Located near, but not quite in, the Lyon Village neighborhood of Arlington, Lyon Hall is fairly new to the scene but kin to the familiar Liberty Tavern. It's a pretty enjoyable place for weekday visits, but weekends, and nights in particular, really draw a crowd - seemingly mostly mid-30-ish and up professional types, well dressed. The din of conversation can grow quite loud at times. All but one of my visits have been weekday lunches

The interior is spacious, simple but handsome. Lots of tile and wood, black and white, mirrors, large street windows. A long double-row of tables comprises the bulk of the dining room, closely placed and creating an open, communal vibe. The bar is nice, long and marble. No partition between the sinks of the ladies' and men's rooms.

The draft list is 20 deep, and while not really destination-worthy, is fairly impressive for a neighborhood french joint. Sure there are some boring euro lagers and common imports under the "session" heading, but the "drink well" heading really turns things around - a rotating featured keg (once Le Saint-Bock Enigma), a rotating seasonal, Allagash Curieux, Two Hearted, and rounded out with 6 well selected Belgian and Quebecois kegs.

I've had a few meals here, and have yet to be disappointed. The Trout Buerre Noisette and Bratwurst Kaiserkrainer are just great, flavorful and delicious. The mussels are really good as well, but it's tough not to compare to the legendary moules purveyor a few miles to the east. The Potato-Prune Dumplings are a nice appetizer, if a little heavy on the dough for my preference.

Service has been a strong point...always quick, helpful, and friendly.

Glad to have Lyon Hall in the neighborhood.

We have been there on numerous occasions and it is always enjoyable.

Good selection of draft beers, although I tend to always get a few Lagunitas IPA pints. They also offer pints and flights of some good beer on tap (Ayinger, St. Bernardus, Hofbrau, Weihenstephaner, Duvel, Gouden Caroulus, etc.).

The Charcuterie is very good. The mussels in various styles are good.

Very good atmosphere, highly recommended!

I wonder who adds these places and then doesn't review them?

The atmosphere is nice - the bar is semi-walled off from the restaurant tables which is good for folks with different social persuasions. It's also modern and clean without being too yuppie-like. I feel like I could hang here in my jeans and sweatshirt without bringing anybody down.

The beer selection is pretty good, but I'd switch that Grolsch tap with a proper German pils like Jever or Eggenberg from Austria. I'd also like to see one more IPA and one more stout or porter.

Service is nice. Nice people.

The one dish I had - the hot dog made from beef rib meat - was tasty. The house made poppy seed roll it was on was great too. The house-made mustard was terrible though. Just plain awful.

I'd go back anytime though, I liked it overall.
