A: Pours a deep red-brown, almost black unless held to the light. Head is a solid finger of toffee-colored foam that lingers tenaciously, and leaves a nice lacing.

S: Toasted malt dominates, but I can definitely detect the touted coffee. The advertised spices - not o much.

T: Rich, acrid malts meld nicely with acidic coffee. Some dark fruits are in the mix as well

M: Nicely carbonated, and easy to drink. No booziness to indicate the 10% ABV listed on the label.

O: A very nice imperial coffee stout. Definitely my favoriteoffering from O'Connor.

Deep and dark with foamy and fizzy light tan head. Aroma is roast and malty. Taste is a coffee bomb with roasted malts and a touch of pleasant bitterness. Finish is full on coffee with a nice mild bitter mouth feel. Good beer !!

Had the version aged in rum barrels at Bier Barron in D.C. Exceptional in each category. Very clean finish on the palate. Aroma, color, clean smooth taste make this a new favorite. Best I've had aged in run barrels by far. Others not even close. ABV listed as 10% on the menu.

From the bottle: 7.5% ABV and 60 IBU's
The label says the coffee is from Three Ships Coffee Roasters.

Appearance: Black body with a creamy khaki head which slowly fades to a film of bubbles.

Aroma: It has a strong pleasant coffee aroma. It's not complex but it smells great.

Taste: Strong coffee flavor with a light hint of charcoal on the edges. It finishes clean. Similar to the aroma, it is not very complex but it is a simple yet tasty coffee beer. No hop presence and not a lot of malt character aside from possibly the roasted flavors in the grain that support the coffee flavor.

Mouthfeel: It is a light bodied beer that finishes dry and clean. I know it might appear to be full bodied because it's dark, but it has a very light presence on the palate and is not viscous or dense. There is a mild bitterness stemming from the roasted flavors in the beer, possibly both the grains and coffee, which demands a stronger presence on the palate without being overwhelming.

Overall: it's a good clean coffee stout and i enjoyed it. I would drink it again. It feels a bit light in the overall body, but it's still a good beer and it leaves me wanting more which in the end is the most important thing. I would recommend picking it up while it is available.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was an inch of foamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: An enticing aroma of coffee, roasted malt, cinnamon, cream, and hops.

T: Tasted of a little dollop of cream (not too noticeable), light hops in the finish, a fair shot of coffee (not as much as expected), light chocolate notes, lots of cinnamon, and some roasted malt. An interesting flavor all around. Not nearly as much coffee as you might think, but the other ingredients - particularly the cinnamon - make up for it. Very flavorful.

F: An average amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: One of the more enjoyable stouts I've tried recently. Easy to drink and well made.

Poured from a bomber into a stout glass. Pours black with a nice foamy tan head - recedes quickly but leaves a nice coating on surface of the beer and definitely some decent lacing as well.

Nose is big on coffee and malt, slight hint of chocolate notes but none of the spice comes through.

Flavor is great - wonderful balance of the dry and bitter coffee with a bit of the sweet from the alcohol and malt. In no way boozy or muddled. The spice notes are there but in a subtle and very satisfying way.

Feel is a bit on the light side for me, a touch thin. But no rough edges, carbonation is on point and a perfect compliment to this brew. Very well made beer - and for the price (I think $6.50 for a bomber) definitely worth picking up.

Pours almost black with a thin tan head which leaves small amounts of tight soapy lacing. The aroma is big turkish coffee. The taste is a little more complex, with a nice deep roasted malt flavor with some earthy hops and balanced by the coffee. The body isn't quite as full and smooth as I'd expect but it is still good, with a nice slickness off-set with carbonation.

This beer really nails that smoky, ashy, dirty Turkish coffee flavor, so if you love Turkish coffee this beer is a MUST. For me it's not so great, but it grows on you and becomes less harsh as you drink on, so that by the end this is a tasty beer you are sad to see go.

Poured a black body with minimal head and no lace at all.
Aroma is coffee and that's about it.
Medium to full bodied, slightly chewy, almost no sweetness or balance at all as this beer is straight up coffee.
Not a bad stout at all but coffee stouts are not my favorite - if you're into heavy stouts loaded with coffee and some roasted, possibly burnt malts as well, then have this beer.
