Just around the corner from my hotel along Via Cavour. Shop assistant was very friendly and informative recommending a great local Imperial. Has a good range of locals which I sampled 3 bottles. USA, Belgian, UK etc. were also in evidence. Large array of fridges which you can crack a bottle then and there. Prices not too bad. Good bottle shop.

If you're near Termini Station in Rome stop in. Fair prices and great local and European beers.

Domus Birrae has a great selection of beers, both Italian and international. The staff was very eager to help as soon as I walked in the door. It could have been more helpful to have beers arranged by brewery or type, but eventually I found my way. Overall, this is my new favorite beer shop in Rome! I can't wait to go back and spend my entire life's savings!

As TheSevenDuff mentioned, where is the Mikkeller?!

Visited a few different times on a recent trip to Rome. Located very close to Termini (which was very convenient for me).

Selection was very good with pretty well every Italian brewery represented along with some of the better European breweries like De Molen, Evil Twin, Brew Dog, etc. There were also a few of the basic releases from Cantillon. Was surprised to not see Mikkeller.

There is also a HUGE selection of Amerian craft brews, many of which see extremely limited distribution state side, so I was surprised to see them there. The likes of Short's, Kuhnhenn, Cigar City, Jester King, AleSmith, Hoppin' Frog and more. The downside on the US beers was price. For example, they had Kuhnhenn 4D bottles at $18 euros a pop. Prices on the European beers were also quite pricey, which was the one downside of this place.

Service was very friendly and they offered me recommendations of some Italian beer that doesn't get in to North America.

I was lucky enough to have my hotel a few blocks away from Domus Birrae, and I was impressed with the selection. Some of the other reviews mention that they only have Italian microbrews, but they had Southern Tier, Lost Abbey, Port Brewing and other American imports when I visited. I only bought Italian microbrews and the owner was very helpful in picking out interesting beers according to the styles I like. Some of the beers were quite expensive, but this seems to be a regular occurrence with Italian micros. I was traveling back by plane and was given some bubble wrap to protect the bottles as well...great shop and great place to discover some Italian micros, and if you live in Rome they did have homebrew supplies as well.

They only sell Italian craft brews. The store owner was on of the cooler guys I have ever spoken to. He was extremely helpful and knew every nuance of all of the beers he had for sale. I had no idea that the Italian craft market was as big as it was until I visited the store. The only problem was we went back another time and the person working at that particular time did not know how to speak English very well. If I ever go back to Rome, Domus Birrae would be higher on my list of things to do than seeing the Vatican again (is that sacrilegious?).

My wife and I were lucky enough to stumble across this monument to beer in the land of wine on our way back from the Colosseum. Its two rooms are stocked with Italian craft beer - mostly those awesome looking 750 ml bottles shaped like old boil kettles, with a large selection in coolers. From what i could tell, they carry only Italian beer, with the closest import being a beer that was a collaboration between Dogfish Head and an Italian brewer (can't recall the name). They were tasting a lager, which was delicious. Other than beer, they have a small homebrewing section, some craft foods (amazing honey), glassware and t-shirts.

The staff member working here was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, describing many of the beers in great detail with obvious enthusiasm and pride. These guys do an excellent job representing Italian craft beer.

Bottom line: Go here (and Bir&Fud) if you are in Rome.

Stopped in here to stock up for a five-day trip in Sorrento.

Quality is good. The beers in the front are far away from the windows at the entrance with half of them in coolers. More beer is available in the back, even further away from sunlight.

Service is very good. The folks here will be more than happy to walk you through some selections if you're not terribly familiar with the Italian beer scene. Be sure to ask if there's anything hiding in the back as one of the better beers I had was hidden back there.

Selection is phenomenal. Just about every beer in here is Italian and I have to admit I had no idea the Italian micro scene was this deep. If there's a style you have in mind you won't have any problems finding them here, and they'll likely be world-class.

Value is good. I was surprised (well sort of) by how much cheaper beer is on the other side of the pond than it is in the states after a mark-up.

Overall I was very impressed by the amount of beer available here and I'm willing to bet you will be as well, check this place out if you're in the area.

This place is stunning! Very very cool ambiance, accurate furnished with two large rooms filled of beer, homebrewing material (a great choice!), glassware and merchandise There is a massive Refrigerator where you can pick up the fresh beers too The staff is obliviously kind and competent They sell almost only italian craft beers but it is quite enough. the italian stuff you can find here is not easy to find elsewhere Anyway they have a little assortment of international beer (de dolle, beer here[!]) as well and last but not least, the prices are very very good. I'm not used to buy and drink a lot of italian beer but thanks to Domus Birrae i will change my mind. If they start to enlarge their international beer selection, this place will get even better: the perfect beer shop and the best of the best in Roma
