If you are anywhere near Helsinki, this is a must-see. The owner is very responsive via email and the bartender offered exceptional service.
The bar is in a strip mall and is tiny, with some great bottles adorning the walls. My only complaint about the atmosphere was the lack of music. I couldn't tell you the last time I was in a silent bar, but this was it. Not bad, just strange.
The quality and selection are incredible. Draft list has some great scandinavian brews and the bottle list is amazing, except that they don't have a physical list to look at. This is the only reason why selection is not a 5.0. Their cellar is phenomenal, but you have to know what to order. The bartender didn't even know about a few of the things I asked for, so my advice: do your research beforehand, and feel free to email as well. While there, I had the Cantillon Viskilambic (whiskey lambic), the Grassroots Triple IPA for Pikkulintu, and an '05 Kaggen! (side note: if you are into whiskey, it looks like this is one of the world's great whiskey bars with rare bottles all over the place).
Overall, prices were incredible, especially compared to anywhere else in Scandinavia. Well worth the trip.

It seems as if this place has lost its magic for being a lambic bar. I took the subway to the bar hearing the legends of this place. I was excited because I knew of their reputation but they had very little. It seems as if they have been picked over. I found a bar in the city with a bigger lambic selection.
Bartender was nice and helpful. Place was great to grab a beer. However having to pay to get there will keep me in the city. I wish it was what I had heard about.

Olutravintola Pikkulintu is a three minute walk from the Puotila metro stop - one if you sprint. It's a cozy affair, with candles and comfy chairs. The bartender is pleasant and speaks English, they host whiskey tastings - oh, and their ninth anniversary beer was brewed for them by Cantillon.
They call it Pikkulinnun Viskilambic for it was aged in a bourbon barrel. Bottles go for 14, which is well worth it. In fact I went back for seconds.
The bottle selection is impressive - two week old Alesmith IPA! Also Southern Tier, De Struise, the Bruery, and that's just the stuff I could pronounce. Themed beer weeks, friendly clientele - even without their exclusive Cantillon this is a great place to visit.
