Bottle sampled on the Ferry back to Nova Scotia.
Fairly clear deep yellow color with a small bubbly white head. crackery grainy pilsner maltiness with just a hint of earthy spicy hops to counter. I was beat up and tired and I sucked this down in record time with no regrets.

For rating a light beer for exactly what type and kind of beer it is, a light one, this is a fairly tasteful beer. The body is light, refreshing, and unlike many light beers, it is not tasteless when compared to it's regular counterpart.

341 bottle, prominent Newfie flag splashed across the label.

This beer pours a clear, extremely pale golden colour, with two fingers of thin foamy white head, which dissipates quickly, leaving nothing but sinking soapy lace around the glass. It smells of mild, fruity Wonder Bread, and some skanky vegetation. The taste is light biscuity corn malt, a faint spiciness, and very mild weedy hops. Very little perceptible bitterness, coupled with a lower than expected carbonation, and light, but not thin, body, render this a surprisingly drinkable lager for its ilk.

Nothing to twitter home about, bye, but not something to stick one's nose up at, either. Plain, unassuming, and above par for the course.

341ml brown bottle with twist-off cap poured in a pilsner glass. From a sampler 6-pack bought at Willow Park in Regina.

Clear, pale straw yellow in colour. Bright white head is 3/8 inch on the pour and quickly disappears to nothing. No head retention at all. No lacing either.

Weak aroma is grainy with cooked veggies.

Astringent grains with a light sweetness. Acidic bite in the finish.

Light bodied with lots of carbonation. Carbonation takes away from the taste and mouthfeel experience.

Below average light lager. There are lots of other better options out there in the light lager category.

Pours light coloured apple juice. minimal head. nose- off metallic smelling, sour apple juice. taste- sweet cooked vegetables and apples. Way more flavour (bad) then its big brother the regular strenghth QV. High carbonation and has a sweet off putting finish. Last beer out of the mixed six path of death.

341ml bottle poured into pint glass may26 2010

A very pale straw yellow with a couple bubbles floating up, angry pour gives up no head or lace it just fizzes and that's it

S much like QV I get some fruit and a little bread and I also pick up on a little toffee

T a toned down version of the smell, nothing great but pretty basic

M a little slick and well carbonated

D easy enough to drink but nothings going to impress you about this beer

I doubt I'll be drinking this again anytime soon just another basic watered down lite version of a all ready basic beer

From a Quidi Vidi sampler pack.

Pours a pale yellow colour with about a finger of bubbly head. The head has minimal retention, but doesn't disappear completely. Very minimal lacing.

Very light aroma of cooked vegetables and perhaps a touch of citrus. Note much on the nose, but that seems to be common among light lagers.

Taste is not bad as far as light beers go. I must admit that I'm somewhat biased against this style of beer, as I find that they generally just taste like watered down lagers, rather than good lagers that happen to be lower in alcohol. That said, this is a pretty good light beer. There is a very slight hop bitterness, which does linger somewhat after swallowing. This is balanced by light malt flavours. It's not super flavourful, but it's quite nice for it's style.

The mouthfeel is thin without being watery, but slightly too carbonated for my tastes.

Drinkability is high. Like most light beers, it QV Light goes down quick and easy. It might not have a lot of flavour, but it's easy to drink and is certainly a good choice for a hot day or if you just don't feel like drinking a beer with a high ABV.

I tried this on the Nova Scotia to Newfoundland ferry. It was the only bottled beer they had(the rest were cans.) The label is blue and has nothing much except the name on it. This light lager poured clear pale golden, with a minimal head and little lacing. The smell is sweet malts and very minimal hopping. Faint dustiness too. Not much aroma at all. The taste is sweeter than a pilsner, but not in an adjunct way: the malts taste pretty clean. So besides some light malts and and the faintest hint of floral hopping, the taste is pretty basic. Medium carbonation, and quite good drinkability, and it was by far the best on the boat!

What is it with Quidi Vidi offering almost all of their beers in a "light" version? Weird.
