Picked up a bomber from TW Arrowhead on 12/17/17 for $6.49. Received at TW on 12/14/17; no bottling date visible.

Beer poured golden orange with a nice white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is fresh tropical and citrus hops, very nice.

Taste is somewhat juicy, with some pine in the middle, and a rindy finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall a pretty solid beer. Strikes me as a Northeast vs. Northwest melding of styles. Glad i got to try!

No bottling date.

Pours a nice creamy foamy 1/2 finger head that fades at a med pace, a bit of lacing, fairly hazy honey orange color

Nose plenty of citrus, orange juice, a bit of pith, mild tropical generic tropical notes, very mild dankness, musty fruit passion fruit, lemony like citrus too

Taste brings a mild cracker wheat malt, doughy, quickly into fruit, banana like fruity esters, plenty of citrus, orange, clementine, a little tropical note, maybe papaya, a touch of musty passion fruit, some pith, soft and juicy. Finishes a bit drier, fair bitterness creeping up, bit of rind on the finish.

mouth is med bod, soft juicy like, decent carb.

overall not bad, wish the hops were a little more pronounced, but otherwise a nice soft juicy NEIPA.

Called NEIPA on the tap list--minimal haze. Tiny head.
Super tropical nose.
Fruity all the way.

Really liked it. Riding the NEIPA bandwagon? sure

Solid beer.

Bottled 12/1217, consumed 1/10/18.

Pours hazy orange, small head.

Aroma is on the light side, orange and some hints of tropical fruit.

Taste is an easy, light citrus, and really little bitterness.

Mouthfeel is light-meduim. Overall this drinks pretty light, an enjoyable juicy IPA if you're taking it easy from hop bombs at the moment.

I'd never seen this before, but Breakside's standard IPA (the one with Splendiferous North West Hops) is a new favorite of mine, and I'd compare it favorably against any of the top tier true New England IPAs, so I'm really excited to see what they make when they attempt the style directly. 22oz bottle shows turbidity even through the brown glass. Served in a pint glass the beer is pale and yellow, and of course, quite cloudy. Extremely sweet tropical fruit aromas of passion fruit and papaya. Smells like fruit punch, not beer, honestly. But natural and delicious, not artificial and cloying. Anyway, let's taste this Beast.

Super, super mellow IPA with practically negligible alpha bitterness on the tongue. Is this what New England IPA is supposed to be? I've had Heady Topper a few times and it's way more bitter than this. Anyway, it seems what Breakside was going for here was a tropical IPA for people who don't like bitterness associated with basically every American IPA ever. The melon flavor is not sugary sweet, but it's incredibly easy drinking. It's weird to say the hop flavor dominates, because it really doesn't seem like that bold of a flavor, but there's no pronounced malt profile to this beer -- and maybe that's part of the magic.

There's lots of lacing on my glass and I can see bits of suspended brew matter clinging to the glass. There's stuff here, yup.

I think this beer with be devisive. I'm enjoying it, but I LOVE Breakside IPA. Given 20 IPAs from Breakside, I'll take the splendiferous vinyl one 19 times, this once, and Wanderlust not at all.

22 oz bottle- Pours hazy orangeish golden with a large white head with good retention. Aroma is citrusy, malt, peppercorn spice, bubblegum. The taste is citrusy, malt, sweet with a mildly dry finish. This bottle isn't the freshest, it's at least 3 months old, would love to try a fresher bottle, this isn't bad though.

It's quite odd and maybe even unsettling to see the masters of the NWIPA try their hands at a NEIPA. It's almost comparable to Michael Jordan playing baseball, or Steph Curry play golf; I mean, you still want to root for their success since you have a lot of admiration for their talent and skill, but something just feels... wrong.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The same applies for the beer at hand. An intoxicating amalgum of high pulp orange juice, papaya, guava, and subtle hints of grass, grapefruit rinds, and resinous pine comprise the aromatic tapestry of this brew. The orange pulp is what ultimately remains on the tip of the nose throughout the drinking experience as the rest gradually fade away with time and temperature.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whereas the palate follows the aroma quite adequately, the intensity that was present on the nose is left wanting on the tongue. The orange pulp is undoubtedly the main culprit, followed faintly by feable accentuations of tropical fruit, pine and grass, and bitter grapefruit rinds. The absurdly clean fermentation profile which does wonders in mellowing out the intense flavors found in Breakside's NW-inspired IPA creations is suspectably the reason why the hop-derived flavors flounder so much with this one; neither hoppy burps or "hop burn" is in the foreseeable realm of possibilities with this brew as the flavors escalate and then suddenly fall off the side of the planet.

Medium-light bodied, and uncharacteristically crisp for a NEIPA. There's a little bit of creaminess on the onset, but the oat-derived sticky velvety texture is nowhere to be found as part of the mouthfeel; something tells me this beer was brewed with sessionability in mind.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A NEIPA with a decisively PNW core. An interesting concept to say the least.
