Enjoyed out of a 22 oz brown bomber with no dating that I can find on the bottle or label to indicate when it was bottled or by when it should be consumed. Poured into a 16 oz pilsner glass with tapered sides.

Appearance - The more pilsners I have, the more it seems that the variance amongst them when it comes to appearance is fairly minimal... assuming they are well made. This one is no different, with a two finger crown of sticky white foam that begins to dissipate to a web of expanded bubbles, but never disappears completely due to a steady, but moderate, stream of carbonation bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. The liquid is spun gold and slightly hazy from the protein chill. The drink down reveals light sticky rings of lace.

Smell - Water cracker and biscuity malts are the first sensation to hit my nose, but are supported by light herbal notes of grass and baby greens as well as some sweeter, nectar-like floral overtones from the hop profile. Imparts a sort of gentle perfume-like quality, but far less overwhelming than you might expect from perfume.

Taste - Lemon zest and grassy characteristics carry over from the aroma , and now the hints of baby green bitterness are a bit more aggressive on the finish. Still, beneath the light hoppiness is the foundation of pilsner malts, imparting the sensation of flatbread and fresh biscuits, with a slightly peppery quality to accompany the bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light bodied and moderate carbonation that lends an effervescent, sharp feel to the tongue. The feel reminds me a bit of what you might expect from an AAL--I wish it was just a bit softer/creamier.

Overall, a solid entry to the style, but with a name like "Liquid Sunshine", perhaps my expectations were set a bit too high. I've had pilsners that impart impression of drinkable sunshine before, and this one falls a bit short, even though it's a nice beer in it's own right.

22oz bottle, part of my haul from the Bier Haus section of the Yoke's marketplace across from our hotel in Ponderay, Idaho a few weeks ago.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden straw colour, with four fingers of puffy, chunky, and somewhat creamy bone-white head, which leaves some streaky hoar frost lace around the glass as it evenly falls out of sight.

It smells of bready, grainy pale malt, white soup crackers, subtle apple and pear fruit notes, slightly edgy yeast, and peppy leafy, herbal, and rather floral hop bitters. The taste is grainy, semi-sweet bready pale malt, kind of past its prime lemon rind, indistinct pome fruit esters, a further wet white breakfast biscuit character, and an increasingly floral, herbal, and grassy hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly understated in its plain, workaday frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, a sort of clammy pithiness cutting into matters just a tad. It finishes off-dry, bready and softly biscuity, with some fading lemon tartness.

A mostly agreeable version of the style, the hops keeping a low, but still well supportive profile, with a varying maltiness that seems to make one have to take notes to keep up - wait, oh yeah. Anyways, easy enough to put back, and summery, sure, at the very least via its sunny label.

This is a wonderful golden pilsner beer that is my favorite beer that I found at Grocery Outlet in LIncoln City, OR. It has the perfect hop taste for me, not too hoppy, a real drinkable beer when you are really thirsty and want to throw down a beer or two.

Breakside Brewing 'Liquid Sunshine' Pilsner @ 5.2% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased
for $6.50

A-pour is pure pale gold with a soft medium white head leaving a spotty lace along the pilsner glass

S-classic take on noble German hops

T-has that distinct German crispness to it

MF-good carbonation , medium bodied

Ov-ok beer ,
(not sure if this bottled version is the same beer offered on tap at 'Dekum' or 'Milwaukie')

22oz bottle from "Trader Joe" in Salem,OR. $3.79 Pours a typical pilsener yellow, but the head is quite nice..thick and creamy . OK aromas..of grassy hop ,cereal and a little earthy. Taste is about the same as the aroma.. except the grassy hop also turns fruity. OK mouthfeel, about average for style OK summer drink but not IMO a pilsener Another of these PNW lagers masquerading as a pils. Be truthful this is a nice drinkable lager with a PNW twist
