Dark brown color with a short lived head that manages to boast webs of wide lace.

The aroma is simple - roasty dark malts with meager coffee notes. The malt has small touches of grainy complexity; it seemed to have an oat smoothness that I reckon is the wheat. The taste is tangy and roasty but, unfortunately, with a lacking for coffee. As is, it's a competent, average sort of semi-chocolatey porter. Puffy carbonation hits hard against a hungry body; the feel isn't as plush as I might like.

Had a bottle at Liberty St Tavern. I like a good coffee porter, but I didn't get any java or mocha, and instead found the dark grains to be unfortunately thin. There was a mellow caramel and a little roast, but no big black roast or cocoa. But the body was at least light, you know, so I could move on to the next beer quickly.

Pours dark brown, almost black with practically no head. The nose is rather bland - nothing much there. There is some roasted malt flavor, but this offering is pretty thin in general. Also, I am not really picking up any coffee tones in this beer. Kind of a flop!

Perc E Bust has a dark brown body and a solid-looking tan head. I can immediately see lacing beginning to form on the glass, and the retention is pretty solid also.

Heavy Coffee aromas mix with caramel malt. The coffee is a little bit acrid and bitter in the nose, hopefully the flavor is different.

Big time-coffee flavor, and although there is a hint of that bitterness from the aroma, it isn't as powerful. The coffee mixes with a good amount of chocolate malt and a dose of black malts. Bits of both caramel and molasses make a appearances also. The finish as well as the background have a little bit of hop bitterness. Any hop flavor that I can pick up comes from the finish, with light, fruity accents. The more I drink this, the more the hops express themselves, very fruity with a substantial amount of hop-induced bitterness.

The mouthfeel is really highly carbonated; it basically explodes on the tongue. A little too much carbonation for me, and a little less body than I would like.

I love all things Pittsburgh, and I generally enjoy Full Pint beers, but I admit that the more I drink this one, the less I enjoy it. One of the many coffee beers that fall into the acrid category, and there is too much carbonation for something that is called a “robust porter” (although that categorization could just be for the effect of the world play on the name).

This brew pours a black color with a thin mocha head which dissipates quickly. Very little lacing on the glass. A little cloud of the original head stays on the top of the brew until the end.

The smell is strong with coffee, burnt coffee, roasted malts.

The taste is strong bitter, burnt coffee. There are also, roasted/burnt malts. There is also a dry, wheat like taste. The burnt coffee is too much 'in your face' therefore overpowering any other tastes that might be in the brew.

The mouth feel is smooth and creamy but there is also the feel of burnt coffee grinds; that is what I am feeling.

Overall this is not very well balanced, too much bitter coffee and not enough of anything else. This is not the best porter I have tried.

A: Dark sepia-brown pour has a thin, milky, dark walnut toned head that is rather short lived. Thin, spacious and speckled lacing has large voids of open opportunity.

S: Rich chocolate, smooth caramel-coffee roast, with an milky almond like nuttiness.

T: Flavor is bitter earthy chocoalte roast, a bit burnt, sweetened up by the presence of some caramel and dry creamer. Bitter coffee on the leave has a flavor that is a bit linear thereafter. Decent lingering finish but in terms of complexity it is the coffee that is the one most staged here.

M: okay, a bit slick and oily in texture with a near medium body, nil carbonation. Doesnt do much or attributes much in the end.

O: Overall an all right coffee stout, a bit thin substance wise, good strong coffee presence if that is your only concern, thereafter may be a bit of a letdown.

Pours a dark brown cola like color with a tan head which gave way to some good lace. The aroma was of coffee and chocolate with a hint of roastiness. The taste had a coffee and chocolate taste but I got more of a roasty flavor than anything else. The tatse was very solid though. The mouthfeel was low to moderate carbonation. Overall it was solid porter, it was an easy drink with solid flavors.

A little thin for my tastes of a porter, yet enuff good taste and aroma to satisfy.
