This is a decent Brown Ale. The beer poured a nice brownish amber with thin head that is not lacing. The scent carries biscuit and malt. The taste is evenly balanced with bread presence. The mothfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a nice brown and would recommend it.

12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

A bit of a surprise here with the smokiness, one of the tastiest brown ales I have run into all year. A real treat.

LOOK: Clear brownish amber hue, decent lacing

SMELL: Toasted grain, very nutty, faint caramel, soft herbal hop, vague fruitiness, subtle smokiness

TASTE: Heavy toasted malt, smooth, medium bodied, nutty, faint brown sugar, modest hopping, light smoke, semi-dry finish

I purchased this at Brass Rail Deli in Campbelltown, enjoyed chilled from the 12oz in a willybecker.

The color is walnut brown with hazed appearance and a thick beige head with 2 fingers depth and very fine bead with sticky lace. The smell is good with malt dominant and light roast aroma with mild caramel odor and subtle yeast ester with light nutty scent and gentle sweet aspect. The feel is very good with malt body and low sweetness with mild toasted texture w/ medium low carbonation and moderately full body with semi-dry finish and low bitterness.

The taste has deep malt taste with light roasted flavor and slightly sweet and mildly coffee-like taste with gentle toasted grain and mild yeast flavor with a lot of bready and mild caramel eleemnts with semi-sweet taste as itt finishes. This is a wonderful brown -fresh and it has all the nuances of malt w/ a nice body and very drinkable quality with moderately low abv -pretty subtle and solid brown regardless of style

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a murky brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a slow pace. Sly roaming lace. The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts up front then a light caramel/toffee malt base. Light floral, citrusy and earthy hops came in for a nice balance. The flavor was semi-sweet with a light bitterness and a decent roastiness. Aftertaste was nuts, leather a little bit of baker’s chocolate. Finish was the same. The palate was medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. A touch drier than I expected along my tongue. Overall, pretty good brown ale that I could have again.

Pours wonderfully deep amber brown hue definitely has amber highlights coming through it's not deep brown it's Little Brown. Preserving bats in PA I'm down, the aroma has a nice smokey malt character with cereal malts/hints of brown sugar very nice malt profile the label reports pils, munich, rye, brown, and smoked malts...this where Full Pint shines a nice specialty grain bill with one single hop Tettnang. Imagine that the IPA with 100+ IBUs I had a rough time with but the Little Brown with 20 IBUs is fantastic. A style I typically struggle with brown ale, they made complex bright and full of life. Flavor has enough malt sweetness/smokey character to really make the malt bill shine, while the noble hop background just carries you through the malt sweetness wonderfully complex and balanced ale this is what I look forward to in a good brown ale. The only beer I would put above this from PA in the same style is Helltown Mischievous Brown Ale other than that this is the best brown ales I've had in a very long time. Very smooth on the palate natural carbonation not overdone in anyway. I'm a fan I will continue to drink Full Pint's beers this may be a staple while it's available.

I don't really try enough brown ales. Or should I say, I rarely try any at all, it seems.

This carries the brown ale character that should be here. That tang that seems to be present in a lot of brown ales is also here. But it doesn't really hijack the experience. Smooth feel. Easy drinker. Not too shabby a brown ale.

Full Pint : Little Brown

LOOK: Clear light brown with amber hues.

SMELL: Caramel, nuts, a touch of toasted malts.

TASTE: Fairly nutty, with roasted malt a bit of fruit. Low herbal hop bitterness. Caramel and a bit of roast.

FEEL: Medium bodied, well carbonated. Finish is more or less clean with a faint lingering malty sweetness.

OVERALL: A decent brown ale. Not sure if this was a one-off or rotating release. Not bad and session able.

Sweet I am the first guy to review this in a bottle! Found at D's six packs in Swissvale for about $2.50 bottle says 5.5% ABV will do a beer update after the review.

A - Pour is a deep chestnut brown which is nice for a lower ABV. Has an off white head that settles from 1/4 to just a mild lace ring.
S - Very nice smoke aspect, has some chocolate malts, sweeter brown malts and a touch of hops to boot.
T - A very balanced brown ale the smoke is there but hidden in the finish. You mostly get chocolate like brown malts, mild cocoa powder, and a bit of tropical hops in the finish. Tasty stuff.
M - Medium bodied and somewhat chewy. Great body for a brown.

Overall I am not sure if this will be a year round offering but I would totally get it again. Also only finding it in one shop on a 4 store beer run is kind of a drag considering this is a beer with a cause:

From a trade with Marty.
12 oz bottle dated 9/31/16 at 42 degrees. Served in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter at 54 – 57 degrees.
Aroma – chocolate and caramel, fades.
Head – large (Maximum 4.5 cm, aggressive pour), light tan, high density creamy with a few rocks, average retention diminishing to a four mm creamy ring and a rocky layer.
Lacing – none.
Body – deep reddish-brown in glass, nearly opaque, but no haze.
Flavor – semi-sweet with caramel. Chocolate from aroma does not show up in the taste. No hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate – medium, creamy, lively carbonation.

A passable brown ale but lacking in the hops department.

Appearance 3.75, Aroma 4, Flavor 3.5, Palate 4, Overall 3.5.

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger off white head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a copper brown color with good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Smoky, hazelnut, chocolate, coffee, spicy, earthy, and grassy.

Taste: Nice nutty and smokey characteristics with mild bitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, nutty, light to medium bodied, and medium carbonation.

Overall: Really nice brown ale with slight smoky features.

Little Brown Ale.

Medium-light brown with reddish tints. Hazy. Lacking much head. An average look.

Hints of earthy smoke, treacle, cherry pits, mild coffee, and dark rye bread. Nice.

Nicely roasted with exceptional bitterness. Notes of earthy hop, rugged grain, rye spice, fruity coffee, and a kiss of smoked malt. Finishes with a gentle sweetness and a light fruity swing. Warms up and jars more smokiness.

Medium body with a restrained carbonation. No stickiness. A gratifying drink.

Good ale from some of my favorite local boys. Recommended.

Tap

Pours clear deep brown, eggshell film for a head.

Smells of brown sugar and woody malt.

Flavor is caramel, brown sugar, toasty bready malts, and a mild hop whisper.

Medium body, light carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

Nice tasty sessionable ale, I din't think it is very high in abv. Tastes pretty good.

Bottle > Full Pint Pint Shaker ole!

A - Pours a nice rich brown, thin thin layer of fizz for head, a little lacing on the sides, not much.
S - Outstanding aroma. roasted hazelnuts and chestnuts, a touch of smoke. Fresh bread and toast some chocolate, a little bit of nice earthy hops underneath.
T - Taste follows the aroma exactly, lots of roasted flavors goin on here, love the hazelnut and chocolate, even a faint hint of coffee, fresh bread, a light hop bitterness, but not enough to make it really noticeable.
M - Creamy and smooth yet not overly rich, tons of good flavor coats your mouth but not sticky or clinging.
O - I had high hopes for this and was not let down at all, this is the best brown ale I've had so far. Outstandingly smooth and packed with tons of flavor. Going to get a sixpack or two right now.
