A: Finger width off white head. Clear dark amber color.

S: Malt in the smell.

T: Very high dry malt roasted taste. Some hop bitterness present, but malt is king. A little too much malt, really. Some sweetness is present in the finish.

M: Crisp medium to light body.

D: Feels light for the style but decent flavor keeps drinkability high. Not the best I've had of this kind, but I don't regret the purchase, either.

Pours a dark amber with good clarity and a descent head, ok retention and lacing.

The aroma is of rich toffee, caramel, and a touch of chocolate. Malt heavy with a missing booziness I've come to expect of this style.

The flavor is full of toffee, honey and caramel. A little overly sweet without a bittering balance, even though this is a maltier style. Also missing the familiar warming I usually get with the style. That makes the drinkability higher, but I'm judging on style here.

Very drinkable, enjoyable, and ok beer.

First had: on tap at their brewpub

Poured a reddish brown with no head other than a few stray bubbles. Sweet malts in the aroma, and a sensation of dark fruits. Smooth and malty taste, slightly phenolic, with notes of apricots and cherries. Finished a little more bitter than I'd have expected, but the alcohol was pretty subdued. Heavy-medium body, and pretty drinkable for the style. Their Atom Smasher Wee Heavy was a lot better though.
