Wife and I visited for a late "light" lunch and a beer. We each had a beer and a slice of pizza (they have a two-slices-and-a-beer lunch special, we just bought an additional beer and it was plenty).

Pizza Port has quite a history and OB is an interesting place. They lean into both in the location. It was busy (go figure, early Saturday afternoon on a nice day). Well-organized and efficient. No chance to be friendly with the staff.

Surprisingly large selection of beers -- maybe 25-30, styles all over. What we tried was very good.

All we ate was pepperoni pizza. Not stand-out, but good to eat.

Great vibe in a cool little seaside surf-centric town. Bartender was helpful and patient, for those are can’t choose among the many beer options. Outdoor seating is ample during the pandemic. Pizza is obviously amazing and the beer buddies are a must-order every time. Can’t go wrong with any of their beers and they have a surprisingly stellar list of guest taps. This spot, along with their Solana Beach location, are SD institutions for me. Can’t beat it!

Visited with my wife on a recent trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Tried the following:
Pizza Port The Jetty (draft)
Pizza Port Athena's Beer (draft)
Pizza Port The Fish IPA (draft)

Beers ranged from very good to exceptional. Also had a delicious custom pizza with pepperoni, spinach, and pepperoncinis. My wife liked her wine. Service was efficient as we never had to wait long for drinks to arrive. The food ordering system, meanwhile, is hilarious (“Got a Small Sausage for Dave”). Awesome, laid back atmosphere at the bar. Our overall experience was a lot of fun, and we would come here regularly if we lived in the area.

This is my go-to Pizza Port location. It has a more laid back beachy vibe to it that the others dont quite capture. They boast about 40 beers on tap, 2/3 of which are their own. Separate lines for beer/food orders and just food help expedite the process and keep things moving. Tons of seating, most of which is Oktoberfest style benches but they don have a few high tops, a small bar area and outdoor seating too. Clean and friendly, Ive always had good service and they have some of the best pizza you'll find in SD.

Last day Diego Tuesday flight tonight, still a hundred places to be seen but we're starting our day of play here on Bacon Street, where everything must be good by proxy. Really could have slept in but beer had called to meet up, and when beer calls, you don't let that shit go to voice mail. Yeah, beer, you know I’ll always make time for you…

Wide low standalone, brick and deco. Something of a tiki bar-like mini space out front, bar countered with seating for upwards of 2 dozen and offering partial parking lot views. Entering in, there’s a lightning bolt shaped bar to the left; plank wood with an alt beige stripe topped laminated, vertical slat wood and bulging stave base, and piping foot rail. Seating for a mere 8 on swivel chairs. We will set up at the bar because it’s just after opening and we can.

Small brewing system behind the wide side in the corner. Past there, a row of 40 mostly logo’d tap handles displayed off the cold room above their knob handle counterparts below. A surfboard mounted above the row and glassware dangling from a rack over the bar seating fronting there. Slat pieced placards listing tap selections on the overhang above. I spy coolered bottles, cans, & (just shaking my head) glassware back there and things shirt & swag racked in the corner. To the rear, a pizza oven led kitchen, with munchies & salads secondarily. All the menu action and pricing displayed above. I would have entertained wings but they were baked, and therefore, fuck that. I thought ‘bout a salad, but then again, no. Break wall beach scene on the base and seating for 3 countered a little further down where they won’t be in the way.

Wood plank floors, light colored walls, and a black ceiling with surfboards suspended from it. Spinny fans and drop lanterns in rows. Surf pics and beach scenes, and some larger ones mounted above. Flats on all walls, most for games except ours, showing one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. 2 long shared hightops off the bar, 4 rows of 4 low picnic tables, and some raised tables on the far end amidst some arcade games (including Phil’s Golf Game 2018) and kid zone play.

40 taps, nearly 3/4 of which are Pizza Port beers across multiple locations (Ponto Session IPA, 4.5%; Swami’s IPA, 6.8%; Tie Dye IPA, 7%; The Jetty IPA, 7.3%; Surf Check Alley, Double IPA, 9.8%; Owl Bear, Double IPA, 8.5%; Kook, Double IPA, 8.5%; Graveyard’s Pale Ale, 6.2%; First Order, Single Hop Citra Pale Ale, 5%; Newbreak, Fresh Hop Cascade Pale Ale, 5.4%; Huff N’ Puff, Slovenian Pale Ale, 4.8%; Shark Bite Red Ale, 6%; Rhino Chaser, Imperial Red Ale, 9%; Bolt up!, Brown Ale, 5%; Chronic Ale, Amber, 5%; Party Pat Stout, Foreign Export Stout, 7.5%; BBA Party Pat Stout, Foreign Export Stout, 7.5%; Guillaume, Belgian Blonde, 4.5%; Faceplant, Belgian Tripel, 10%; Salsipuedes, BA Quad, 12.5%; Scrummy One, English Dark Mild, 4.5%; County Line, English Bitter on Nitro, 5.3%; The Flyin’ Hawaiian Hefeweizen, 5%; Junk in the Trunkle Dunkle, Dunkelweizen, 5.2%; Pick Six Pilsner, 5.2%; The Alternator, Alt, 5%; Grandview Golden Ale, 5%; A Toast to Tim, Summer Honey Ale, 5%; Super Kolsch, 4.3%) + guest taps from Beachwood, Modern Times, Lost Abbey, Mikkeller, Avery, & Left Hand. I drank Ponto Session IPA, Tie Dye IPA, & The Jetty IPA. Time being limited as it was, I should have played the sampler game to have gotten through more of the list. My Ponto IPA & Ben’s Surf Check Alley were the best of show.

Pretty sick selection of their beer in and of itself, really don’t need the guest taps. Food looked super good, but it’s just too much, too early, too now. And we have, it seems, brought the rain. Lovely. Just as we’re about to hit the road as we’re burning daylight. I would have liked to have done more time here but it was not to be (this time around, anyway). Mistakes were made. Should have samplered down and again and then again.

Hopping brewpub in beach area of San Diego with a bit of a hamburger stand vibe although most of the tables are indoors. There is a counter to order your beer, and one to order food. And 4 rows of communal picnic tables, one rows of high tops, and some sidewalk seating. About 30 beers on tap as well as some bottles and cans, the two I had were excellent. Their wings was really excellent.

This is a fun, loud, neighborhood pizza joint that happens to make its own beer, and it's pretty damn good. Very tasty pizza (crust made from spent grains), solid beer selection with about two dozen taps plus bottles and cans, casual and laid back, just as you'd expect in Ocean Beach. Would definitely return.

Ate lunch and had a couple of pints of beer here. Don't be like me, read the menu and realize they have a great priced lunch special of pizza/salad and house beer. Anyway, this is exactly as you expect - both a pizza joint and a brewpub. Bench/communal tables seating inside, and some patio seating too. You order beers and food at the counter and they call out when your food is ready. Long list of house beers on tap (mostly IPAs), and also some guest taps. The two beers I had (a pale ale and a DIPA) were both good.

I visited Pizza Port in Ocean Beach during my recent San Diego visit. Cool place to grab some pizza and home brewed beers. It's a relatively large space with benches and plenty of seating. They had tons of Pizza Port beers on tap.

I watched a portion of the World Series enjoying several porters. This place had a nice vibe. The servers were friendly.

Enjoyed my visit.

My favorite Pizza Port location as they are near guaranteed to have Bacon & Eggs on tap. Parking is a pain given they have a tiny lot and street parking is pretty dicey. If you've been to any other location, you already know what to expect. It's something straight out of the 1990's with benches, video games, pitchers, and pies.

The beer is all your standard Pizza Port offerings, a smattering of the latest from the house brewer and some cross-pollinated location origin beers. There are a dozen or so guest beers, and some guest bottles. Pretty good bet to have stuff from the San Diego scene mostly with a couple out of area beers. They do keep a screenshot of their current menu on their website, but it's kinda dicey to look at if you're looking for a specific beer. Order pizza at the front, beer at the bar. Staff is quick, polite and happy to give suggestions.

The pizza is quite good unless you're a pizza snob, in which case I can't help you. Lots of options loaded with a ton of toppings. Can't say there's much better than a pitcher of Swami's and one of their "Anti Wimpy Gourmet Pizzas".

Had an IPA, that described wet hops...it was totally flavourless. The pizza was nothing to write home about. The sauce was way too sweet and there was clumped garlic randomly on the pie. Really too commercial for me, I was expecting so much more.

I think I have been to all of the Pizza Port joints, and this is similar to the rest of them, just located in a different neighborhood. Smaller than the majority, but still good to go. Good pizza, great beer, open seating, and good service. I used to live in Ocean Beach, so of course, I recommend this place.

Food matches the beer. It's in OB cmon... 25-35 on tap. Lots of guests beers. AND... if you have never had PP beers... They dont bottle much, they share kegs with all 5 locations, always a brown, stout, something BA, a quad, a sour.... They have more current recepies than most. They have been at it longer than most and have got it down.

Pizza Port OB was a great stop. More selection than the Carlsbad location, but getting beer was rough. They have one place to order beers and the line got to 20+ people for most of our visit. Service was fine once you made it to the front of the line.

Pizza was great and the vibe was cool - definitely a beach town feel.

Despite the long lines ill go back whenever I get the chance!
