12oz can , some code on the bottom but not apparent date. Hazy golden orange with disappearing head. Tropical and piney smell. Taste is tropical piney with a little bitterness, juicy. Feel is wet and juicy but not much carbonation. Overall a pretty good beer for the "hazy New England" style but not hard to find better at the same price.

Rich, lasting lace. It starts four fingers thick and leaves a couple of thick streaks for lace. Very cloudy naturally with an apricot juice color.

Fresh, weedy hop aroma. Not too strong, which gives a bit of malt to the nose as well.

This is a well balanced, juicy IPA. Citrus and pineapple flavored hop. Like the smell, the hop isn't overly strong or bitter, although the aftertaste is lengthy. There's a bit of anise as well. High carbonation with a moderate body.

On tap, first as the clear standout of a flight of well-respected IPAs, and then a full one. Beautiful color with a hazy, almost oily sheen. Smells like hop dankness and apricot; taste is pretty much the same. Very well rounded and easy to drink, while still packing a punch. One of the best NE style beers I've had.

Pours from 16 ounce Prowler bought at Liquor Shed hazy straw yellow, significant head of foam. Smells of pine needles, grapefruit but mostly pine. Pine needles taste, grapefruit, hint of tropical fruit, fairly bitter. Juicy mouthfeel, good IPA.

Poured from a 12oz can with no born on date; into a pub glass.
Appearance - straw yellow, very cloudy with some distinguishable bubbles that maintain a medium, fluffy white head. Lacing is very strong!
Smell - juicy tropical and citrus fruit ooze from the can and delight from the glass!
Taste - mirrors the nose, but a bit on the sweet side and a touch too watery.
Feel - flavorful and the right amount of bitterness, however, the bitterness isn't leveled with a nice malt balance, but rather more watered down.
Overall - this is a really nice beer, however, for $15 a sixer, I'll pass.

As Epic New England Style IPA (Citralush).
A 12 fl. oz. can with no canned on or best before date. Poured into a Holy Mountain tulip glass.

Appearance: A cloudy dark orange (like mango juice) colour with a one finger white head that had decent retention and left some nice lacing.

Aroma: Mango, orange, citrus zest, pine and a hint of damp wood.

Taste: Juicy tropical mango and peach, citrus orange zest and lemon peel coupled with touches of pine, dank, bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: A nice, refreshing and tasty NEIPA.

Hazy orange juice-honey color, very NE-like. Nice fluffy pillowy head on top.

Aromas of pulpy orange juice, white peach, guava, citrus rinds, resins, orange gummy bear, and a nice presence of herb, namely cilantro.

Flavor starts off with a tight herbal bitterness and moves into a creamy, soft OJ profile with some rindy bitterness and orange gummy bear. Nice herbal finish with slight mineral.

Feel is resiny, creamy, juicy, with a nice firm carbonation.

Overall, they've nailed down the style pretty well. i'd have taken a little more OJ sweetness but there's nothing worth seriously complaining about here. Very very good beer and worth picking up.

12 oz. can

Pours heavily fogged hazy golden amber with a fairly dense creamy white foam head. Smells like lush tropical fruits, some stone fruit, orchard fruit, citrus fruit, a little bit of sweet caramelized malt, with floral earthy herbal dank resinous grassy pine. Tastes like tropical citrusy fruits, pineapple, passionfruit, apple, mango, peach, guava, grapefruit, orange citrus, tangerine peel, biting lemon pith, with a slightly sweet caramelized malt base underneath and some bitter dank floral earthy herbal grassy resinous pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice New England style IPA.

Undated (c'mon guys!) can into pint glass. Pours a very hazy dark amber, with a modest head that dissipates quickly. Initial impression is very sweet and moderately juicy orange, pineapple, grapefruit, and tropical fruits, gradually revealing just a touch of bitterness. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky; carbonation is medium. Finish is fruity and sweet - too sweet for my possibly jaded tastes. OK in moderation, but too sweet for sustained consumption.

Poured 12oz can into snifter. It is a hazy light peach color with a nice white 2 finger of head that slowly fades quickly and leaves behind massive lacing. The scent is tropical fruit, guava and passion fruit, with other floral notes. Flavor is fruity and juicy and hits on some different tropical fruits like guava and passion fruit more so that say mangoes. Bitterness is low as is the malt which keeps it very sessionalble. Nice carbonation with oily hop residue and a lighter dry finish.

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $3.15 with 10 percent off for a variety 6-pack
Purchased: Nov. 2, 2017
Consumed: Nov. 2, 2017
Reviewed as: New England Style
Misc.: No canned on date

Picked this up on my monthly visit to Bine & Vine, along with a bunch of other stuff. Picked it up without really knowing anything about it or a canned on date. Usually two no-no’s for me. Hoping to be surprised.

Poured a pale-to-gold hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Light bubbles coming up from the sides of the glass. Decent spotty lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)

Smelled Citra, juicy peach, floral, tropical mix juice, mango, papaya, guava, pineapple, Wild Berry Skittles, orange blossom and mandarin. More guava and papaya, and maybe even Mosaic from the can. (Smell - 3.75)

Taste was not quite as good. Tons of tropical flavors with a rough mix of hops. Got papaya, guava, mango, peach, pineapple, Wild Berry Skittles, tropical juice, passion fruit and mixed berry. Sugary Citra and buttery Mosaic for hops. (Taste - 3.50)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, juicy finish. (Feel - 3.75)

This was a very good New England Style beer overall. (Overall - 3.75)

Pours a very hazy and nice colored bright orange yellow.

Tropical fruit notes and juicy citrus.

Tropical and citrus fruit notes come through in flavor but seem muted and are underwhelming.

Medium-bodied, low carbonation, slightly juicy, citric.

Overall, this brew is brewed to style, but seems a bit underwhelming.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy golden with a small white head that fades leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have citrus leading the way along with some tropical notes. Some bread and crackers in the mix. The flavors follow the nose for the most part. Hints of orange and pineapple. Some fresh grass. Moderate bitterness. Mild sweetness. Finishes juicy. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and refreshing.

This is a nice IPA. It has alot of the characteristics that you would expect from a "New England IPA". It's enjoyable and fun to drink.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released locally. Pours fairly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an excellent NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Super juicy Citra hops with perfectly balanced malts. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example; despite being less hazy than most others. Post review I discovered some yeast was cemented on the bottom of the can after I rinsed it out; so it probably could have been more hazy after all.

Unknown vintage (summer 2017 most likely); drank 9/7/17 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a huge white head; strong, frothy lace.

Cane sugar, orange juice & caramel notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Cane sugar, orange juice & mild caramel flavors up front; faint dry grass notes on the finish.

Sweet to the point of cloying & not balanced; not even that fruit forward. A misfire of the style. Colorado: no need to send any more of this to Chicago. We're good.

Cloudy golden orange colour, one finger white head, good retention, lots of lacing. Smell is juicy citrus, orange, touch of candied sugar, pulp and caramel. Flavour is sweet citrus juice, light zest, touch of caramel and light orange. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, light zesty finish, not particularly bitter. Good execution in the right spirit of the style even if it the most impressive.

Apricot hazy body topped with a dense, sculpted head. Mango and pineapple in the aroma. Old fruit rind flavor; rather bitter; light grapefruit and old orange flavors. Medium-heavy body; simultaneous elements of dryness and juiciness on the tongue.

I'm still not clear on the style profile for a NEIPA, so this review is way more subjective than usual. The appearance seems to fit the hazy side of things and the head has some very nice density and sculpted qualities about it. The smell is really low-key although does exude a tropical fruit quality. The flavor and mouthfeel just don't seem to fit the purported stylings of the beer. The beer is pretty dry overall and doesn't deliver any "juicy" qualities, and the taste is pretty flat and, although somewhat fruity, more so on the old side of things and not fresh and zesty. No, probably not a great example of the style, but I'm willing to explore more offerings as they become available in my area.
