Notes:
Spiral Jetty India Pale Ale is the launching point in our series of hoppy IPA brews. Spiral Jetty IPA has an aggressive hop profile (five different hops used here with two in the dry hop) presenting citrus, floral, resinous or pine aromas and flavors typical of American hops and a nice pleasant, cleansing bitterness on the finish. The dominance of the hops helps to balance the complex malt flavors and the higher alcohol content.

Overall this is a pretty decent IPA. At the nose, very hoppy. As you drink through this tallboy, you realize that this is a very smooth IPA, but at the cost of some of the hoppiness. Overall, deceptively hoppy on the first sniff, but the drinkability is very good.
A decent beer, but in the amazing world of craft beer, this is just above average.

A silver bullet smooth Ale that finishes sweet, without being sweet? Impossible,....is what I used to think.

Taste like ass. More accurately,it tastes like burned American Chinese food. It's a good thing I am already drunk or I would have poured this shit on the lawn already.

[Original rating 2012-07-13] Bottle from the brewery store. Pours light copper with a thick off white head. Aroma is malty, faint citrus, flowers. Taste is hoppy with a very bitter finish. Not bad but not great.

Appearance: A slightly hazy deep amber with a finger of fluffy head that dissipates slowly leaving nice lacing.
Smell: Fruity hops with a bit of malt.
Taste: bitter, citrus with some cereal and flower.
Feel: Nicely carbonated, an easy drinking IPA.
Overall: At 6.6%, this IPA is nicely rounded. It's great to see a beer like this come out of Utah. I will seek this out again.

Enjoyed fresh in SLC. Surprised at low scores on this IPA.
A: Pours a slight hazed golden orange body with suitable lace and retention. Looks well made.
S: Too faint, but it's flowers, hops and a grain bed.
T: A pleasing set of hop dominant, complex bitters & herbs, with biscuity malt flavor. Floral and faceted.
M: Light & a bit thin
O: Better than its reviews here when fresh in SLC which it turns out is a great beer town.

Copper and brass appearance, almost an inch of white head. Bright white. Despite the commercial tug job about five different hops, this one falls into the boring land of no off flavors, no noticeable aromas.
Taste, offers some bitterness and caramel. Real average stuff. Nothing special flavor wise, no off flavors. Bomber format too expensive.

Poured into a pint glass. Deep orange color with a small head that doesn't last long. Some lacing sticks around the rim of the glass.
Smell is subtle. Floral notes with some light pine and citrus.
Taste follows the nose but is intensified a bit. Resinous floral hop bite with a touch of grapefruit. Not much malt in this one. Just enough to try and balance. Simple but pretty tasty. A slightly bitter finish that does not linger.
Mouthfeel is good. Medium carbonation makes for easy drinking.
A bit one demensional but certainly not a bad offering. I would have again but wouldn't necessarily seek it out. More of an introductory IPA.
