bomber from release #3, 5.5% abv, was told at the brewery store that this recipe is roughly the same as the first two

a: deep brown in color, appearing black for the most part, sporting an average khaki head

s: great roasted malt profile, rich with chocolate and some lightly sweet toffee aromas, but restrained and balanced, glimpses of smoke, an earthy hop aroma

m: carbonation light-moderate, with the body hovering around medium, just a little oat-y creaminess

t: roasty chocolate malts form the bulk of the flavor, some malty sweetness underneath but quickly cleaning up, earthy hop flavor in a roasted finish, just the right degree of roast - somewhere between light and char, very tasty

d: drinks great, a really nice stout

A: The pour is a dark, dark brown color with a finger's worth of khaki colored head.

S: Nice licorice and roasted malt notes come through as well as a pleasant coffee aroma. There is a definite char aroma as well, though it's not out of control.

T: The flavor is extremely heavy on the roast, featuring more of the charred character that was present in the nose. Slightly ashy and acidic, but somewhat mitigated by some dark chocolates.

M: Perhaps a bit thin in terms of body, which is strange for an oatmeal stout. Carbonation is a bit on the high side.

D: A decent stout, though the presence of the char and ash is something I did not terribly enjoy.

22oz. Bomber
Elevated Series
Release #1
$4.29 ea.

Pours a dark brown/black color, some carbonation, one-finger creamy light tan color head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with hints of chocolate/toffe/caramel. The taste is slightly sweet, malty, a touch of chocolate/toffee/caramel, slightly roasted. Medium body. Would not buy this brew again.

Another 22 provided by Inflatablechair... Release #1.. Thanks Sam and Sam's Boss!

Pours with a lite tan head.. not quite black as a nice deep garnet clarity shows when held to a bulb.... great retention and lacing.

Aroma begins with lite coffee char and some dry roasty maltiness.. pretty mild but very by the book.

Flavor has more of a malty sweetness to tie things together.. dark grains.. lingering roastiness on the finish... a bit of nuttiness shows with warmth.. pleasant and well done.. not a "beat you over the head" stout .. instead just well integrated. Medium body with a sorta slick mouthfeel.. nice lite yet everpresent carbonation.

Pretty good... I would certainly buy this from time to time...

Thanks again Sam.
