This massive Stout pours a mahogany black with a thick, brown head. The aroma is all chocolate roasted malt. The aroma is all chocolate and toasted malt. The first wave of flavor embraces anise and dark, bitter chocolate but opens up to include coffee, smoke and rich sweet malt.

This beer is from early 2014ish
A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger and a half of light tan head which retains well and leaves decent lacing.
S: Smells of intense fudgy chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee
T: Taste is coffee and chocolate with some nice roasted malt character. There's a touch of charred wood and burnt sugar but it's mostly chocolate and coffee. On the swallow there's more chocolate and coffee with a little more roasted malt with a hint of charred wood at the very end.
M: This beer has a body which is on the upper side of medium and a creamy feel on the palate. Carbonation is adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a pretty well done beer. It has good flavors and some nice complexity. It tastes like it has held up to the time pretty well too. Everything here is well balanced which also adds to the enjoyment. Worth a try.

Big black pour constituting the majority of the color scheme, some dark brown making up the rest towards the edge of the glass, similar colored head on it 4/5". Aroma of massive roasted malt in both scorching aspect and overall heft of the amount of malt used to make this big boy.
Taste is just what the prototypical American imperial stout would be, a truckload of massively roasted black patent, chocolate malt, carafa and two row, a hint of smoke. Firm, but not overly bitter. Firm, but not a challenge to drink. Roastiness does a good job at diluting any alcohol sting. Mouthfeel good, perhaps a tad more carbonated than most, but it works plenty good. You don't like it, wait a few minutes. Got dat chewy mouth feel.
These pair really good with s'mores or cigars. The bomber format is meh, but the cost per ounce is still decent. 4 packs of this would be nice, really rivals Old Rasputin for what it is all in all, which is quite the compliment.

L- Dark, very dark.
S- I could smell chocolate off the top.
T- Chocolate over anything else. Not a huge stout fan, but this one really hits the spot.
F- Thick taste. Tiny spice at the start, but very light.
O- Very nice beer. Nothing crazy special, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Release #21, opened on 04/12/2016 making this 20 months old. "store aged"
A hard pour looks like black motor oil and yields an awesome 3 finger dark brown head made up of ultra-compact bubbles.
Aroma of chocolate sauce, roasted nuts, a touch of spice like anise, and a whiff of light sherry.
Intense flavors of dark near-melted chocolate, nice and smooth roasted barley, dark berry fudge, and a hint of sherry. With the age I would expect this type of profile: Absent is any harshness, coffee bitterness or acrid flavors, and the sherry is almost surely due to age. I like imperial stouts fresh and lightly aged, and appreciate the differences.
Conclusion: Very nice. A simply massive stout which has aged very nicely. I bet it is pretty nice fresh as well. 15 years ago this would have been famous. Now it is just another fantastic heavy-hitting ultra-dark stout among many others. I will surely drink this again especially with the sub-$10 price point.
