Poured from a bomber (Release #17), the beer is jet black, with a dense, foamy, light tan colored head. Aromas of rich molasses, dark roasted coffee, some date and fig highlights, booze notes, and some chocolate. Wow...this smells rich. Flavors are heavily roasted and boozy forward, with a blast of bitter roasted coffee, a healthy dose of old world fruit richness, and bitter baker's chocolate at the end. Heavily roasted throughout, and the body has a surprisingly dry undertone in the body. The aftertaste is boozy, coffee, and chocolate, with some earthy notes, too. Smooth, dry finish. Big, heavy brew.

Poured a black body with two finger tan head that dies quick.
Aroma is mostly roasted malts and chocolate although there are some coffee notes and possible caramel and toffee malts as well (and I swear I get a hint of dark fruit).
Medium bodied and balanced, the beer shifts between two primary flavors of roasted malts and this chocolaty, syrupy sweetness (not quite Hershey territory).
Finishes easy and rather smooth/sweet than dry, not a heavy imperial stout but a mighty tasty/sweet one that hit my sweet tooth.
