Notes / Commercial Description:
This beer is the epitome of Epic’s IPAs. This hard hitting brew manages to pack a punch while still providing that fantastically complex IPA flavor. Slightly floral aromas hit the nose while resinous flavors dominate the body, finishing with the ideal palate cleansing bitterness.

I think this is the batch # 50 (had it on draft, so I am going on release date from the website)

I am pretty happy with the end product but admittedly after knowing the hop bill (Citra, Mosaic, Motueka, Waimea) it could be better. It seems like (from the site) they used Citra primarily for bitterness in the boil (???) and I wouldn't know that it is in there from smell or taste, which seems like a waste of Citra!!!

Anyway...

L- it has a slightly hazy straw body with minimal head.
S - slightly muted tropical notes. What I get is wonderful, but it is relatively faint. So it is mixed for me, in the sense that is has a great aroma but isn't very strong. Which is definitely better than a strong aroma of nastiness.
T- Taste follows nose. I get a dose of delicious tropical, citrus and ripened fruit notes, all riding on a very light crackery malt. unfortunately this wonderful flavor also seems a little muted. What is there is enjoyable but not quite the level where other top notch DIPA bring it to. For such a high ABV, the alcohol is well covered. I am thankful for the small pour at a local craft bar because this is EASY to drink.
F- slight stickiness, medium carbonation and a full enjoyable mouthfeel.

I have a feeling after reading this batches (#50) hop profile that it is a better beer than the ratings suggest, however it seems that it also could be even better than currently presented.

Cheers!

Pretty orange color, solid 1/3" of white head on the top. Aroma was decent, but not what I drop mad ca$h on like this for a bomber to just have kinda decent aroma in an imperial ipa.

Taste was plenty bitter, I found the beer to be really thick viscosity, not syrup, but thicker than your average imperial ipa. Easy to drink 9.5% here. Ultimately its a little bit better than average beer at a way worse than average price per oz. Not a repeat purchase when better stuff is substantially cheaper. Substitute goods bro.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 1 pt 6 oz bottle on December 25, 2015. Release #45 9.9% abv. Look is gold orange blend with foamy head and little lacing. Smell is citrus, herb, floral, pine and caramel malt aromas. Taste is juicy citrus, herbal, floral, pine resin and light caramel malt flavors. Feel is medium in body with a dry finish.

Great tasting beer, pours a nice light golden color, decent white creamy head that laces. Aroma of hops is ever so present and taste is refreshing with the hop bitterness at the end. Good beer to drink for those long hot summer days.

22oz bomber into my Duvel tulip.

A: Pours a just-slightly hazy gold/copper with 1 1/2" foamy white head that recedes slowly. Retention & lacing are both excellent.

S: Herbal, fruity hop character jumps out of the glass. Some caramel-like sweetness. Melon. Brown sugar. Citrus. A bit of a resinous quality. Impressive.

T: Comes on malty with more brown sugar & some peppery spice. The mid palate reveals more & more hops, both in terms of citrus & overall bitterness. The finish is a slightly dull combo of lemon/lime & molasses.

M: Moderate carb married to a slick malty body. A bit soapy.

O: I actually think I like this quite a bit.
