Appearance: This one pours clear golden with a foamy bright white head than leaves behind good lacing.

Aroma: Golden raisins, biscuit, grain, piney and a wisp of pear and apple with a light citrus note.

Taste: Biscuity and buttery quite a smooth mouthfeel with grapefruit notes. Piney, some pear, apple and grain with some light dried fruit notes in the back.

Notes: A very good offering from Epic Brewing and extremely drinkable. Cheers.

Can. Pours clear and devoid of a head. Looks flat. Smells musty. This combination of hops and lager yeast isn't necessarily the most inviting. Some floral & lemon hops and honey malt and lager yeast. Flavor is a bit soapy. Rather light yet the hops seemed forced initially. Then all flavor just drops off. Watery finish. Metallic flavor pops up. Bought a single. That'll be enough.

12oz can @4.5% ABV, this one was apparently made in Denver.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, very loosely foamy, and mostly just bubbly dirty white head, which leaves some thin, spectral, and sudsy lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of crisp, crackery pale malt, underripe lemon peel, a prominent hard-water flintiness, and some tame leafy, herbal, and grassy green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and biscuity pale malt, muddled aged domestic citrus pith, wet stone paths after a rain storm, a touch of those gritty Valentine's Day chalky candies, some ethereal white pepper dust spice, and more leafy, weedy, and grassy hoppiness.

The bubbles are fairly understated in their palate-pleasing frothiness, the body an adequate medium weight, and generally smooth, but for a small, probing pithiness that works and needles its way in over time. It finishes just a smidge off-dry, the malt seeming like it's about to pack 'er in, while the citrus and verdant hops consider their late-night options, as such.

Overall, an enjoyable enough Bohemian-style American lager, the crispness and mandated hop affliction real and worthy of pursuing. However, I think that the brewery's marketing wags have got it wrong - I wouldn't recommend drinking this around yer bolder (not a Colorado in-joke, I swear!) IPAs, as it just won't hold up - consider it on its own, or with others of its ilk.

From a can into a goblet. No freshness date.

Smells of cascade-esque hops and some lightly toasted malt.

Hops hit first, but are quickly followed by a brisk rush of nicely layered light malts with good texture and complexity. There is a quick flash of sulfur, and the hops are an interesting balance. Well done.

Look/Feel: Light gold and almost totally clear with a bit of haze. White head that falls slowly. The feel is right in the right medium-light range to make this very refreshing.

Conclusion: A nice and non-traditional lager. More of these are welcome any time!

Poured into a Banquet tumbler glass.

Look : Hazy pineapple glow, 70% opaque, shadowed fingers on the opposite side. Head is large and frothy, creamy cap with billowing fluff. 3 fingers.

Smell : It's pretty faint, but what's there is very nicely balanced...saltine cracker with light fruity flesh and faint peels. Not overpowering at all.

Taste : High pale and biscuit malt character, a bit of grassiness, light pine, some of that saltine, and some blueberry. It finishes out with more pale malt character and light pine.

Feel : Light and crisp all the way through. Light bodied, straight through. Crisp finish.

Overall : Sure I'd have it again. It's a beer, it's crisp, it's fresh, it's easy drinking. Nice pine and biscuit malt.
