This is a big stout. Thick, heavy amounts of chocolate, and a bit boozy. But, it is very delicious. I prefer the Big Bad Baptista variant over this, but this still very good. I think a 12oz serving would be ideal as I had trouble finishing the 22oz bomber on my own.

"Release #86".

Released September 2017; drank 10/16/17 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A violent pour yielded a small dark tan head; decent lace.

Chocolate syrup, cream, light roast coffee bean, mild oak & faint bourbon sweetness in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Chocolate syrup & light roast coffee bean flavors up front; cream & mild oak bite on the finish. As this warmed, faint booze bourbon heat emerged.

This reminds me of KBS, but better; less cloying & boozy, more balanced. Well above average, if not transcendent.

Bomber poured into a snifter boasts a brilliant dark brown body showing a clear mahogany red only at the edges through direct light and briefly floats a thin tan colored 1/8in head.. and leaving erratic lacing.

Aroma actually surprises me. Dark stone fruit, bitter roast, but a wet cardboard aroma as well.

Flavors luckily skip the off-issue and settle on a solid roast cocoa, coffee, caramel, and stone fruit base. Note: only subtle booze heat as it warms.

Mouthfeel is fuller and just short of creamy, coating the tongue without being oily, and leaving a slight caramel aftertaste.

Overall a solid example of the style and perfect with either a fine cigar or cinnamon ice cream.

Big Bad Baptist pours a black color, with not much head. Big rich aroma, smoke and hints of chocolate. Flavor is also big and thick, lots of creamy malts, hints of chocolate and lots and lots of fresh coffee. Good body and feel. overall, a great complex beer, nice flavors and its well built.
