Phenomenal brew, amazing coffee flavor followed by a chocolatey malty finish with a smooth mouthfeel and little to no bitterness or carbonation. Must drink for anyone who enjoys a fine stout.

Batch #50 ("Blue Copper") poured into an Epic snifter.
Deep, dark brown, small amount of khaki foam, good retention. Does not bend the light on the edges the way a lot of BBA stouts do.
Smells amazing. Immediately, you get the coffee, but sweet coffee without the bitterness. A moment later, the sweet toffee and vanilla notes from the bourbon barrel emerge.
Coffee, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel flavors come through in the taste, but the finish is surprisingly bitter for how sweet and rich it smells. The bourbon barrel comes through only slightly but becomes a little more noticeable as it warms.
The mouthfeel is pretty standard for a stout but does not quite have the rich, syrupy viscosity I was expecting for a barrel-aged stout.
Overall: I'm glad I finally got to try, but I had built it up in my mind a little too much. I think I was hoping for a substitute for BCBCS, which it is not. BUT, for a $13-ish bomber of barrel-aged coffee stout, it's going to be hard to beat.

Release number 45. Very good beer lots of whiskey, maybe should have aged it a year or two but the taste was spectacular. Coffee, cocoa, dark fruit and a lovely whiskey bite. Will buy again

Always loved the name.

1/2 inch head on slow pour. Dark brown/ medium black; looks delightful.

Nose is mild coffee and mild chocolate.

Taste is mildly bitter coffee initially followed by chocolate and creamy oatmeal.

A really nice brew, and was at least 3 months old. Would love to have again.
