Had this on Nitro while in L.A. Overall, the beer was extremely easy to drink. It appeared a hazy, darker orange color that had a really nice, well retained, thick and dense white head. Lighter aroma than expected, slight citrus hop. The taste is about what you would expect from the style, malty with some citrus hop. The beer had a really nice feel to it, extremely smooth and very easy to drink.

Nice fruity notes of citrus. Hop balanced with light bodied base. Clean finish with mild hop bitterness.

Pours a hazy, light-orange color with a puffy, white head. There are a few sediment chunks present in the glass with this one.

Smell is pretty complete. There is a nice malt pull, complemented by the sweet essence of candied sugar and the distinctive aroma of Belgian-style yeast. At the end of a decent whiff comes the somewhat tart presence of citrus fruit--lemon and orange are notable here.

Taste is hoppy and fruity. A pretty legitimate, bitter hop presence is at the front of the palate with this one. Tart citrus presence completes the acidic flavoring of this brew. Although there is the tiniest bit of maltiness, but that is far outdone by the other aspect of the traditional beer due--there is little malt ying to the hop yang, so to speak, with this beer. Still a pretty decent taste.

Low to moderate carbonation to go along with the stinging bitterness in the mouth with Brainless.

While this is a pretty nice beer, it fails to capture the true greatness that mark several (mostly Belgian-brewed) exemplars of the style. Balance is largely missing from this one, as is the sweet essence of Belgian yeast which can sometimes distinguish the style from a typical American IPA. Still, this brew is worth a try.

Pretty good IPA. Resembles Hop Stoopid. Another favorite of mine. Smoother than some other IPA's. Doesn't have the bite of Ruination. However Ruination is my favorite by the way. I will definitely be getting this again...very soon.

Good golden color, almost perfectly clear. OK head and really nice clingy lacing that hangs on for dear life. Aroma is piney with a good amount of pineapple and some orange. Malt sweetness and hops balance pretty well but this beer is a little more subdued than I would have expected. Just researched and realized that this beer has been in the bottle for 4 months. Still a good IPA, but I would guess that it has lost a little during its time in the bottle.

Poured from a 22oz bottle with a limited batch release number (17); into a tulip. This particular bottle indicates the ABV to be 6.7%.
Appearance - hazy dark gold with just a few carbonation trails intersecting with unfiltered floaters! Fluffy, white head that leaves sticky lacing as it slowly recedes. The final pour from the bomber, after a good swirl, yields a darker gold, almost orange with very cloudy, pulp-like sediment!
Smell - Belgian yeast, peach, mango, some pineapple. Far more Belgian characteristics than IPA in the nose.
Taste - more hops in the taste which contradicts the nose. The fruity flavors play well with the bitterness from the hops!
Feel - think hop forward Tripel; flavorful and complex, though the bitterness seems to linger oddly when I think I'd prefer a more mellow finish.
Overall - very good representation of this style and very enjoyable on a hot day!
