This is a little skunky. Let me state straight off it is not bad beer, it reminds me of N.Z. Steinlager. Except it is an ale. As my taste for IPA's is reaching into loving the great ones, my review of this one is I live in Colorado, and this beer does the great beers from here a disservice. It is good, but far from great, and does not have the nice piney resin, citrus notes of a great IPA. It has the bitterness, with out the richness of a great IPA such as something from a nano brewery, or Odell's sublimely excellent IPA. For $2.00 more per six pack you can have a beer you will love, vs this that tastes okay with a pizza. Sorry. I won't be having this again soon. Give me a Stone, give me some New Belguim, Give me a goddamn awesome Comrade Super Power IPA out of Denver. Epic should raise their game.

Nice beer. I had it from a can in a tumbler at the Bayou Pub just down the street from the brewery.

Poured from a 12oz. can
Chill hazed gold in color, with a rather short head of white foam.
Aroma-Herbal hop notes
Taste-Piney, herbal hops, tropical fruit notes. Nice hop flavor without a lot of hop bitterness. Very drinkable and tasty.

A: A pinkish yellow in color, hazy. A small amount of white head on top.

S: Wonderfully fruity hop aromas. Grapefruit, tangerine, and tropical fruits all bubbling out of a pine background.

T: Apricot, peach, and tropical fruits with orange peel, and grapefruit. The bitterness is a little more subdued than I would have thought. At first sip I thought it might be a touch watery, but as I delve in deeper the hop flavor really takes center stage. Not a lot of malt character, but clean, crisp and refreshing.

M: Medium light in body with active carbonation. Fairly dry finish.

O: Tasty, fairly hop forward, but surprisingly not as bitter as I would have imagined. This would be awesome on a hot summer day.

6/24/17...pours pale yellow, active bubbles, white patchy foam. Citrus pine nose, somewhat pronounced. Light bodied citrus lemon taste. Mellow hop mixes amidst the body. Clean, crisp. Borders on a hoppy lager. Nice.

This is a very unique ale, it tastes like a lighter ipa yet it has a significant alcohol content, the color is a not particularly fantastic medium yellow , however the taste is a really good blend of hops and alcohol content, drinkable as a lager yet at 6.2 percent this beer is a great ale overall

Poured from 12oz can into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a very light haze and a light effervescence. Head pours a half-finger of frothy ivory foam. Pretty basic, but not bad.

Smell: nice hop aroma where the character is citrusy, herbal and dank. There appears to be a little toast in the underlying malt, so the overall experience is quite earthy. Pretty good.

Taste: much like the aroma, but quite a bit sweeter and with a little bit more emphasis on the citrus element of the hops, especially at the beginning. Finish is a bit over-sweet but moderately bitter and relatively well balanced. A decent IPA.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a nice rich creaminess. Pretty damn good for the style.

Overall: I imagine this beer is relatively unattenuated by design -- it's a bit too sweet but with the tradeoff of great texture. An interesting take on the style.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium coppery amber with a half finger white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of bready, slightly caramel malt, grassy and citrus hops. Flavor is dominated by grassy hops with light citrus and a little bready/biscuit malt. Medium bodied. A nice low key American IPA with an good hop flavor from the mosaic hops and a pleasant malt body that isn't that apparent at first, but caramel and biscuit flavors are revealed as it warms. Light for an IPA, seems to lean towards APA territory. Pleasant but nothing really stands out here. From the name, I was hoping it was a reference to availability of more "herbal" dank flavors in Colorado, but guess it was more literally they moved shop to Colorado.
