We can rate airport places? D-did I already know that?

So, umm, it's DuClaw. They are okay. Sometimes the beers are solid, sometimes they taste a bit homebrewy.

The place is neat for an airport bar, however, because it's located before security. So you can go there if you're dropping off or picking up someone. It's also a bit bigger than most airport restaurants and bars, so it avoids having a creepy, claustrophobic feel.

The open-air setup has its pros and cons. You lose that eerie surreality that can plague some tiny airport establishments (where you have like 100 square feet that looks like an Applebees but if you turn your head wrong you face the Horror of an airport). But there's also no blinders, no protection. If you look straight ahead one way you see a security line. The other way, you see people checking in to Southwest.

There are large TVs above the bar and literally everyone stares straight up at them, to avoid having to look at the airport. It's creepy but completely understandable.

Umm, so yeah. Okay beer. Better prices than most airport places. Strange vibe.

Not bad for an airport, but of course pricier. Decent food and 2 rotating taps along with their regulars. Quesadillas were good, though I was not a fan of Sweet Baby Jesus. Stop in when you are there if you have time before heading through security. Kind of wish it was through security so you didn't have to worry.

As mentioned - this is the BWI bar location of DuClaw. It is pre-security. Open area with bar towards back. Some TV's with sports on. They had seven DuClaw beers plus Miller Lite and Yuengling.

Beers were okay - better than most bars at an airport - but in general - nothing made me think DuClaw makes great beer.

I sat at the bar and the service was very bad. Bartender was more interested in talking with other employees than providing me with service (I was one of about 5 people at a very large bar). He gave me a beer menu and then didn't come back for five minutes - talking to servers, the manager etc. while I sat there waiting to order.

What appeared to be house made chips were best of the food - burger was decent too.

If service was worth a hoot - I would recommend for beer pre-flight - but the service at Bill Bateman's is far superior and the beers aren't bad either.

First off, these reviews are in reference to a bar at an airport. I've been to quite a few, and you can't really go wrong here (except to miss your flight because the darn place is pre-security).

Been here twice now while awaiting an international flight. See the international section has a bar with no selection and an even worse spot inside. Both times, these were mobbed by infantry flying home from abroad and i wanted a quieter area. DuClaw served both an open space and good brews. Had their normal lineup and one seasonal on tap while i was there. Service was affable and quick. Not a bad place to await a plane.
