All true about the woman that's a pain. I've never seen, nor dared ask about the "free samples" that are advertised on the website. Remember to ask for free glassware if you spend enough; they'll try and stiff you.

Workable selection of ingredients. All the basics. The brew on premise looks great, but have never tried it. It's a lot more expensive than doing your own, but could imagine it as an office do, or something. Looks impressive.

I've brewed over 15,000 bottles and never had a batch go bad. Last February, I had one go off before it was even bottled. I checked and double checked everything and the next batch did the same thing. Then I remembered that they had been low on malt extract and got suspicious. I changed NOTHING, went to Steinbart's and brewed the next batch with no problems whatsoever. I really believe she sold me malt extract that had gone bad. That's unforgivable, and has lost them my business forever. It's a little closer, but when you risk getting bad malt? Not worth it.

Nice spot, and decent ingredients. First homebrew shop I shopped at because it was the closest to me at the time. Nice to see some rental space on sight to use to brew and ferment the goodies.

First time in, the lady working there was a pain.. like others have mentioned. I know exactly who they are talking about. Its like she had the attitude that she things every guy that walked in will have some sort of an ego or something, and not want to listen to her because she is a woman or something. I asked for assistance, and she was happy to give it to me. Later I asked advise on a small batch I was brewing, and she gave me some tips for what i was trying to accomplish. That seemed to break the ice with her. I would guess that telling her she is wrong, or avoiding her will piss her off even more.. but the initial contact and service could be a throw off...

Decent fresh selection.. location, and the prices are very competitive. Good hops assortment usually.. though they seemed low on many a few times.. and some even seemed really old.

They're pretty cool at this place. Theres a pretty good selection of ingredients and supplies, plus you can brew onsite. I have bought ingredients from them for a couple recipes and some of my kegging equipment. The prices are comparably to other places around town and I have always found the people here to be helpful. They seem to have all the basics plus more with some varieties to chose from. I just try not to go during the peak hours of operation because it can get pretty cramped in that place. They also own the sheet metal shop adjacent to the HB store and from what I understand will custom make things for you like towers and drip trays.

I bought my kegging supplies here, as well as ingredients for a recipe that the owner had on tap. This place has all the essentials, plus room in back for large batches and classes. Some more specific items, like draft equipment must be obtained elsewhere.
