On nitro at the brewery.

Poured a deep black hue with a one finger frothy off white head. There was very good retention and lacing.

The smell featured moderate roasted malts and a touch of smoke.

The taste offered an excellent roasted note with charcoal and black coffee.

The mouthfeel was smooth with a dry finish.

Overall a very flavorful stout.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Deep, deep color in the pitch dark range of mystery. Head is smooth but shallow & leave little evidence. The aroma is big on the espresso side. The taste is the thing here. Really, really smooth texture. The slight salinity helps the velvety smoothness.

Not the biggest nor the best, but ranks among the upper echelons of both with it's smoothness.
