A: The beer is clear light golden yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that quickly died down, consistently leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edgace of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lemony hops are present in the nose along with hints of Brett funk and yeast.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of lemony hops and Belgian yeast along with notes of sourness and hints of Brett funk. There are also some underlying hints of cracker malts.
M: It feels a little more than light-bodied on the palate. The beer has a moderate to high amount of carbonation and some dryness in the finish.
O: This saison feels a little lighter compared to other beers in the style, which makes it quite easy to drink with some refreshing properties. I really like how the Brett funk was delicately balanced and isn't overly strong so you can still pick up the aromas and flavors of the other ingredients.

-optically clear, golden yellow tap pour with a very thin ring of foam. The nose is Belgian candi sugar and light Brett. Flavor is delicate with a saison character and a light Brett note. The finish is dry. The body is light, but this is flavorful.

Looks as though the last release of this was back in 2015...

Got this release, no bottling date, but based on Barrier's Facebook page, looks like a December 20th, 2017 release... Red wax sealed cap, 6.5% abv, pre-aged 14 months "for maximum betterment"... Gave the ole' measured "Belgian pour" into a tulip - not being sure how the head would form or if any sediment was present...

Poured crystal clear and bright gold, with a finger of faint white foam... Just a few motes trailed behind on the glass and tiny lazy bubbles effervesced up from the bottom... A pungent wine-like smell perfumed the air, suggesting sour grapes and damp grains... Dry lemon pith and crisp cracker and biscuit impressions followed on the sip, with a vinous green bitterness of white grape skins and an undertone distinctly brettanomyces... funky, tacky, lightly tangy, and vaguely herbal... Light-bodied and dry, with a very subtle sweetness and mild bitterness...

Second half of the bottle pour revealed no sediment, and the more vigorous pour didn't kick up any more head than the first pour...

Wanted to tone down my scores a bit - believe it or not - as a nod to the fact I'm not a regular farmhouse ale drinker, and I didn't want to over-hype it for the style, but I really loved this beer... I thought it to have some elements suggestive of pilseners and an IPAs, from the malt bill to the citrusy hops, so I'm not sure if a saison purist would score it as highly as me for the style. Personally, it'd been a long while since I had a brett brew, and this really hit the spot...

$9.99 pint bottle at Total Wine...

had a bottle of this packed in a 12 bottle shipper and when I was dropping it off I noticed a glorious odor and when I opened the shipper, this brew had popped its cap through the wax! lost about a 3rd of the bottle bit pushed the cap in and fridges it for later (which is NOW). enjoyed from a barrier taster.

a - brew pours a murky golden yellow...looks like a mimosa.

s - nose is nice funky tart. little sweet little sour lotta Bret t.

t/m/o - nice smarties candu sweetness with a.big underlying barnyard funk. exactly as advertised. the finish is a bit funky and dry...but a great beer, esp for beermosas. this would be a grand slam if it finished more sweet than funky. it really opens up w some nice complexities as it warms and breathes.

Pours a tangerine hue with a hazy clarity and no head. Nose is medicinal, citrusy and funky. Taste is a bit watery and the most prominent character is citrus zest and a light funk. Mouthfeel is light and lively with a bright carbonation and a harsh, prickly carbonation. Overall, I give them credit for the effort but the carbonation is way too assertive and kills this beer for me.
