tall can...3/6/17 stamped on the bottom

Pours heavily hazed, dull orangey. Spotty lacing left on the glass

Moderate tropical nose

Tasty NE style IPA, with ripe pineapple and dull grapefruit juice coming to mind.

More highly enjoyable and worthy brew from BBC

Pours a pretty golden color with a tight creamy beige head. Not much lacing on the glass.

The aroma is of tropical and savory hops. Some grapefruit and pineapple provide a fruity note where some onion provides some dank.

The taste is a mix of grapefruit and pineapple. Quite bright to start. Then a piney/savory hop comes through as well as the spicy rye. Bit of a mineral note from the malt.

The feel is moderate with fizzy carbonation. Starts slightly sweet but finishes with a piney/dank bitterness. Fairly good balance.

Good rye IPA. It's well made.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a beautiful golden dark amber color. Head is frothy and full of tiny bubbles.

Lots of rich peppery rye on the aroma mixed with tropical hops. Very juicy grapefruit/ tangerine smell.

Taste is a nice blend of juicy hops and smooth rye malt.

Very excellent beer.

Bottle purchased at The Beer Belly in Albany, NY.

This one pours a dark hazy amber color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.

Smells like spicy pungent rye, bitter bready malt, pine, and grapefruit rind.

This didn't really do it for me. The rye and malt character kind of overpowers the hops here, making for a very bitter and spicy beer, without much balance. It was certainly drinkable, and I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't really get it again, probably.

This is medium bodied, with a crisp mouthfeel.

Wouldn't really recommend it.

Hazed amber body and ivory head. Somewhat muddled ale with citrus and rye - sweet, moderate bitterness, moderate carbonation, medium-weight and smooth-bodied. Good, but not something I'd particularly return to.

Returned to anyway - 7/11/17 canning - either it got better or i just like it more - when I saw it around again, figured, why not? And grabbed a can - didn't note it before and it's not in the commercial description, but this beer is brewed in collaboration with Every Time I Die, a metalcore band from Buffalo, NY...

Still got lots of citrus impressions, spiked with some rye "spiciness" - can't say I'd change anything about my previous description/review except that I did return to it and it was worth - really digging it this time 'round. I would definitely go back for another. Bumped up my overall to a 4.25 from the previous 4 to reflect my change of heart. Cheers...

BA says it's retired but the can I had was canned 7-10-17. Another nice job from Barrier.
