Thick, jet black body. Brown cappuccino head which pours heavy but falls pretty fast and leaves only minimal lacing. Roast malt, burnt sugar, coffee, sweet, coffee, dark chocolate, toast on the nose. Taste is Kahlua, burnt toast, roast malt, coffee, sweet cream & sugar. Medium to full mouthfeel, alcohol isn't overly cloying but does show I think right at the 8-9% that it sits. Delicious.

From the 16oz glass received in trade from mdfb79
Firestone-Walker snifter glass
Jet black body with with a healthy foam gathering of dark sandy suds. Rich with sweet cream and espresso notes. Straight espresso up front. Very coffee forward. Dark roast malts lend a nutty chocolate compliment. Getting lots of malted milk ball. Some moderate char and dark fruity esters there. Alcohol is incredibly well disguised. Lush, full, and slick mouthfeel. Not overly sweet in any way with the lactose. It has depth and complexity but also very straight forward. A very nice coffee stout. Highly recommended checking this one out.

Appearance: Arrives espresso colored with a two finger head; clumpy lacing
Smell: Coffee, chocolate and caramel with a hint of roasted malt
Taste: The coffee powers this beverage with chocolate, vanilla, and caramel adding some sweetness; a bit of roast, in the middle, with a balanced finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A nice milk stout that straddles the sweet and roasty elements; excellent coffee flavor

Great tasting sweet stout. Could have been a little richer or a little more complex but I tried to rate this according to style, not against my more favored styles of stouts or imperial stouts. 10/15/19 date printed on can. Pours a rich black opaque color with a little fluffy tan head and some great looking small sheets of lacing. Solid. Smells of dark roast coffee, lighter milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, malt, nuts and toast. Taste follows the nose, good balance and higher ABV was well hidden. Mild smooth mouthfeel with decent carbonation. I would have liked more richness and depth and complexity but again that’s more fair to imperial stouts. A very enjoyable beer.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/15/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast/charred/coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great hop/char bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky/resinous mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.8%. Overall this is an awesome imperial coffee milk stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the modestly bitter/charred/drying finish. Great soft/silky feel, and not overly bitter/charred. Awesome balance of rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee, and lactose flavor complexity; with nice earthy hop balance, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering hop/char dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on English style example.

Sampled November 2019 from a tap in pint style glass.
Appearance: Very dark black, with a very thick dark tan head of three fingers. The head is high, but it is not creamy, instead it has larger bubbles. The head lasted a long length of time for a stout, and left a good amount of lacing on the side of the glass.
Smell: Pronounced coffee and roasted malt aromas. Also some chocolate and caramel aromas. The coffee aromas dominated, but I did like the overall mix of aromas.
Taste: Pronounced coffee flavors. There is some chocolate, vanila, and caramel in the flavor as well. There is only a little hop bitterness to balance the other flavors. I really like that it is neither overly sweet nor overly bitter. It is an interesting balance of flavors. Overall it has a very good taste. The flavors provide for a unique stout.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth as expected from a milk stout. Medium-bodied, with medium level of alcohol which matches with the 8.8% listed.
Overall: This milk stout is very good. It has a better mix of flavors than many other milk stouts. One reason I like it is this is not overly creamy like many milk stouts, nor is it overly sweet as some stouts. The balance is very good and the contrast of coffee and hops makes for a unique and interesting stout.
I really liked this, and would buy it again.
