From tasting notes 05/27/17
Had on-tap at Barrier Brewing in Oceanside, NY

Appearance - Served up in a tall, 10oz glass, very hazy and the color of white grape juice. Thin, broken layer of suds ride the surface. Good amount of lacing, with broken webbing decorating the glass.

Smell - Yeasty and fruity, with notes of grapefruit, passionfruit, papaya, pineapple and a hint of pine.

Taste - Follows the nose. Mild Grapefruit met by tropical, juicy notes of passionfruit, papaya and a bit of pineapple. Underlying base of pine and earth. Finishes with a hint of zing and that light dank, earthy flavor.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with fair carbonation. Goes down smooth before a mostly dry finish.

Overall - Pretty good hazy IPA here. Maybe a bit too much earth for my preference, but the rest of the flavor profile is tasty.

L-Hazy golden yellow with 1 finger off white head. Settles out to more than just a skim coat of foam with lacing clinging up the glass.

S-Very aromatic. I smelled it instantly upon opening the bottle, and it became that much more intense when poured. Smells citrusy. Maybe a bit bready.

T-definitely citrusy with the breadiness also coming through. There's a bitterness that lingers in the back of your mouth that almost gives a tart taste, but I won't say that it does. I saw someone else mention lemon, and after reading it, I agree with that.

F-Seems thin for the 8.3% ABV. The higher ABV leaves a warm mouth feel. Carbonation is adequate.

O-This is definitely a high quality brew. I wish it didn't cost $7 for a 16.9oz bottle. The price point is not friendly, but if you get a chance to try a bottle, I would recommend it.

Tall silver can....3/6/17...one month in the can

Pour heavily clouded, tangerine, long lasting oatmeal froth, leaves behind bits and blobs of thicker lacing...

Ripe grapefruit juice infused nose.

Very tasty and enjoyable brew from BBC..seems like their brews are all outstanding lately....more ripe grapefruit , ripe pineapple, soft and tasty fruity/citric goodness...worthy...go get some

500 ml bottle from Halftime, Poughkeepsie
Light golden body and a bit cloudy. Really nice lacing. Aroma is a little dank and sweet. Catch some fruits and grassiness.
Taste is pretty strong pine with pineapple/citrus/dried fruits. Really liked the mouthfeel: Finish was pretty dry and very smooth. The finish really made the beer much easier to drink for an 8.3%. I'm usually not one to put much weight on the mouth-feel but with this beer the finish put it over the top from Very Good to Excellent. Went down a little too easy for the ABV but that's not really a gripe.

Pours a hazy orange juice yellow with minimal head and average lacing. The nose is muted but hints of grapefruit and malt come through. The mouth feel is very soft and smooth. For an 8.3 Double IPA it hides the alcohol well until it warms up a bit. Tastes include candied fruit and citrus rind. Overall, a very solid DIPA.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a hazy bright orange bordering on light copper with a half inch head.

Orange is orange citrus with orange blossom honey and orange peel.

Taste is less of the orange and more intense bitterness, but gives way to a light fruity sweetness at the end.

Delicious.

500ml bottle from Noble Grains NYC on the UES
Cloudy amber-orange with a creamy white head and good lacing, smell is sweet cotton candy, mango, peach, tangerine, and dank hop nectar, taste is sweet and juicy candied citrus, dried mango, hop candy, and caramel malts, finishes with a mild dry bitterness, this beer is creamy and chewy. A citrusy hop candy treat from Barrier and Hops Hill. Yum.

I'm going to agree with the candied citrus characteristics attributed the beer by other reviewers. Had a relatively full body, and aromas of tropical and citrusy fruits. Amply carbonated and moderately bitter. Juicy and fruity; and smooth with a nice finish.

Pours cloudy bright gold orange color with a 1-2 finger off white foamy head that's packed with bubbles of all sizes, dissipating pretty slowly and leaving good foamy lacing. It looks like a glass of guava juice with a nice foamy beer head.

Smells of tangerines, orange juice, red grapefruit and pineapple up front, and then super juicy hops with lots of citrus and piney notes blending with graham cracker, toffee, wheat bread, peppery spices and then papaya. Smells wet hopped or a little like weed or fresh wet tobacco, really nice hoppy aroma.

Taste follows suit and brings lots of citrus flavors up front with piney hops and floral hop notes before the citrus takes over and washes down with a mix of grapefruit, lemon, tangerines, orange, pineapple, wet grass, caramel, brown sugar and herbal elements. The sweetness and malt backbone come through after the fruity citrus goes down leaving biscuit, graham cracker, mild toffee, pizza crust (good NY burnt crust...), peppery spices and then faint coriander. Very well balanced, it's easy to drink and hides the ABV masterfully. Overall a very tasty beer.

Really big hop bite. Huge bitterness with pineapple cutting through on the finish. A little boozy. As you sip that fermented pineapple flavor really settles in. Bitterness is a bit astringent and makes the beer seem like more of an undertaking than it really is. Tons of character and memorable, someone loves this beer, I think it's good for a one off.

Pours cloudy orange. Thick, tall, white head lasts a bit.

Smells pine, citrus, malts, tropical.

Tastes strong citrus and pine, but not super juicy. Doughy malt, light pepper, mango Tropical. Dry finish with citrus peel linger. Medium body and smooth medium carbonation.
