04/27/20 on bottom lip of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.

A: Hazy Arnold Palmer tint with 2-finger off-white frothy head with decent retention and craggy lacing.

S: Aroma is medium intensity pineapple, melon, lime, and fruit punch happiness.

T: Flavor follows the aroma but ups the intensity to medium-high with lime, pineapple, red grapefruit, orange, and melon with touch of sweetness in the finish. Low bitterness and high fruity esters.

M: Medium body with soft impression but not as full as my others.

O: Very good NEIPA that checks most.of the boxes, slight miss on feel but all in all a solid beer.

Pours a cloudy straw with a finger of head. The nose has nice citrusy notes. The flavor profile was surprisingly light considering the nose. The body was also quite thin.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Hazed golden pour with thick fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Citrus... strong citra hop presence. Lighter pine and fruit.

T.F: Light grain bill... citrusy hops... lemon/grapefruit. Melon... grass/earth and light spice. Modest bitterness. Medium bodied... sticky on the tongue.

O: A solid IPA. Good flavor and drinkability. Doesn't stand out in any major way but a well done beer.

Pale yellow gold, fluffy head that weakens quickly. Aroma and palate feature soft, ripe melon, mild grassy / earthy hops, perhaps a whisper of peach pith...good, but lacks layers

One of the best new to me IPAs I've had in recent memory. Dank bitterness creeps up on you as you wade through the citrus/melon fruit profile. Very drinkable for a resinous offering like this. Not just a glass of juice like so many IPAs nowadays, this has some kick

I had this beer on tap. It was ok. Read any review for any IPA for a decent description of this beer. Lots of melon. Low on bitterness. Soft mouth feel. World class.

Canned 9-11-18
L: Hazy, orange in color, light clingy lacing. A good bit of unfiltered clumpy particulates nestling at the bottom.
S: Citrus.. pine, lemon and a nice dose of earthy tropical.
T: Matches the smell.. just a tad on the malty side.
F: Medium IPA.. smooth. Very little carbonation or bitterness.
O: A very good tasting IPA. Mellow sweetness combines very well with the hops.

This beer pours a cloudy golden yellow color, with a dense, foamy, bright white head. Retention is above average and there are some sticky spots and chunks of lacing left on the glass.

Smell is dank mango, resinous pine, earthiness and grapefruit pith.

Taste is very similar. There is a touch of malt presence, but they do nothing to keep the hops in check. Moderate to heavy bitterness.

Feel is light side of medium and slightly dry with moderate carbonation. The finish is slightly sticky.

Overall this is a very good beer. Dank, bitter and fruity, an excellent combo.

Small head but the rim bubbles last throughout the tasting. Good ring lace after each sip. The color is a cloudy, dirty gold.

The smell has more malt (a bit earthy) than hop (lightly bitter, no floral aromas).

The flavor reverses the trend of the smell. The hop bitterness dominates but the taste mimics the smell. Moderate body with an elevated effervescence. The finish is straight up bitter leading to a long aftertaste.

American style IPA brewed with ID007, Motueka, Citra and Chinook
Love this brewer. 7.1% pineapple PEN!
a) Sorry, but I like my brews more copper, this pours dully, fully hazed, cloudy yellow supporting a big lasting and lacing head. Otherwise a looker. (I like mine brunette v blonde)
s) muted flower and pineapple shop, with perhaps pineapple upside down cake baking and just out of the oven.
t) More pineapple shop, with very BIG first flavor impression, that supports a broader array of complex flavors.
pine prominence. Also pine, grapefruit rind, tangerine, orange flower water, flowers, lemon all balanced by drying, peppery bitterness. Juicy but clean, sweetens as it warms. Would score well (for being big) in blind taste tests.
f) Juicy, the finishing faintly drying, and wine like astringent. Smooth.
o) Gets better as it warms. Barrier is a great NY Bight brewer along with Carton across the bight.

Tall boy Can dated 1.8.18
Poured 1.26.18 into a teku glass

Creamy two finger white foam cap over a hazy yellow amber, some carbonation on the side of the glass, settles to a solid thin layer of white

Fragrant on the pour, citrus, orange, grass,

Taste of citrus hops, wee bit of dank

Some carbonation on the sip, gentle hop bite, lingers, lingers, lingers..

Good beer

Enjoyed on tap with lunch at karvers grille. Wow, what a great beer. Super fresh, super tasty. Really great tasting hop. A bit.more west coast but tows the line of both east and west. Not too juicy but not too syrupy. Just good.

Pours a murky dark yellow, with a thick cap of head.

Smell is intense and juicy, with heaps of peach and mango. Slightly sweet and awesome.

Taste is like the nose but on steroids. Insanely juicy and tropical, with a perfect, hefty hop bite and hints of licorice. Just amazing.

Mouthfeel is soft and pillowy, nicely carbonated.

Overall, just a superb NE IPA, great mouthfeel and smell, and the taste is world class.

Great looking beer. Turbid dark OJ color with a large and fluffy white foamy head. Somewhat muted aromas but nice grapefruit and citrus along with dank resiny notes and some bready malt. Serious grapefruit and orange juice on the palate with a nice amount of resin and bread to balance things out. A pretty soft feel with a clean bitter finish.

Looks pretty---unfiltered yellow-grey.
Smells like heaven---Burnt rubber meets flowery orange.
Tastes long and rich and smooth, citrus and funky Barrier yeast, lip-smackingly good.
Feels like a mouthful, with good head and oiliness.
Overall, a perfect modern IPA.

Bottle not dated. Poured into Spielglau IPA glass. It pours a turbid, golden-orange color with a huge, fluffy, milk-white head and lacing that resembles gelato. The head coats the glass through the entire pour. Its nose is orange, mango, spice, and floral hops. It has a fruity, hoppy flavor that is really pleasing. There is also a sweet malty finish that counteracts the bitterness and works really well. It is fairly creamy for an IPA, with moderate carbonation and the 7.1% ABV gives it lots of substance without distracting from the flavors. Overall, this is a really good American IPA that deserves its Outstanding rating. I've enjoyed every beer I've had from Barrier.

Pours an opaque medium yellow color with a huge white head that left a lot of lacing. Tastes of orange, pineapple, melon and a nice malt presence. Aroma is slightly muted as compared to the taste. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, finishes with mild bitterness .Excellent IPA from Barrier.

Really hazy yellow color with slightly off-white head. Bright hoppy notes with a light vanilla sweetness, melon and pomello. Taste follows with really nice, fruity hops, slightly dank, peachy, light bitterness on the finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Really well made NE style IPA with great hop flavors.

-1.5 cm foam cap over a cloudy, pale yellow can pour. The aroma is densely tropical and bright. The flavors are rich with grapefruit and lemon. A resinous bite and a formidable malt body differentiates this from many softer IPA's. I hope to find this again!

This is my third beer from these guys. Can't say it's as good as Money but it's pretty damn good. More balanced. Not just a juice bomb. This has malt and bitter hops working for it. Nice to see.

L - now that's a nice rusty coppery orange haze. Seems kinda thick when I wiggle my glass. Hm.

S - fresh is the name of the game. Grassy orange mixed with wintry pine. Smells cold. Maybe some light lemon lime.

T - pine prominence. Grapefruit rind and kinda west coasty in its zesty fresh hoppiness. Lively. Tangerine and orange syrup juiciness with the pithy bitterness from lemon. Faintly drying and leaves a bitter grainy mealiness behind. Really starts to sweeten up as it warms.

F - casual and cool. Smooth body. Slick.

O - seems like a very chill beer despite its potent flavor. Maybe I'm just in a chill mood, but this would be great with some illicit substances, underground trance, and snowboard videos.
