In draft at Left Coast Kitchen, Merrick, NY.

Poured a slightly hazy dark straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured an herbal hop and a mild yeast ester.

The taste consisted of a full herbal hop spice with a subtly sweet malt and a touch of cleansing lemon zest.

The mouthfeel was toward the neater side of the style.

Overall a very well made and tasty hop forward Belgian pale ale.

32 ounce growler filled at Decicco's in Ardsley, NY

Pours hazed darker orange amber, moderate off white head, quickly goes to a fine film and thicker collar. leaves moderate strands of fine lacing.

Yeasty, phenolic nose, with ripe citrus and a hint of bubble gum.

Fresh, fruity and flavorful with better then average complexity exhibited. Notes of lime, Belgian yeast, grapefruit, apricot all picked up. Drying and again fresh tasting hops develop in the finish. Nice brew. Carbonation could be stepped up just a notch IMHO. Worth a try.

A - a cloudy orange. No head but I'll blame the pub glass.

S - plenty of orange with a bit of cloves. Very little Belgium yeast aroma.

T - more of the aroma. Orange, some cloves and just a bit of the normal Belgium taste.

M - moderate mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Again I blame the pub glass for no head despite tasting moderate carbonation.

O - a very mild Belgium. A good 'first' Belgium for those that haven't tried one.

From 06/04/11 notes. Growler shared by nimbleprop; thanks Mac. Poured into a tulip.

a - Pours a hazy orange-golden color with an inch of white head and light carbonation evident.

s - Smells of citrus, yeast, cloves/spices, light fruit and bananas, and light mint. Pretty nice, definitely some Belgian style notes in there mixing with the citrus.

t - Taste is more of the same; oranges, citrus, spices, cloves, and fruity malts. More citrus and oranges in the taste, pretty nice.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation.

o - Overall a pretty nice beer. I thought there was a lot more citrus, especially oranges, than most Belgian style pale ales, but I liked it none the less. Would try it again.
