Poured a hazy straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a vibrant leafy citric hop.

The taste was equally vibrant with a clean citric hop atop a light grainy malt.

The mouthfeel was light and clean.

Overall a very quaffable hop driven ale.

this one popped up locally on growler and was listed as "session ipa" and checking the ol' barrier website shows they have a "session ipa" called unimperial, so this must be it! kegs are supposedly new too. got a 16oz pour earlier today and enjoyed from a hoptron uneven snifter.

a - through the growler looks fairly murky opaque brownish orange. poured in the glass, looked the same in the glass...thin head, gone quick, some pockets of head stayed on the surface, but not much...no real lacing either.

s - wonderful fresh citric notes.

t - wow, like an ipa lite. great hop flavor, but a bit watered down.

m - a bit watered down but still medium bodied. just soft on the flavoring i suppose. very sessionable. subtle bittering on the finish...but soft.

o - overall, like founders all day ipa. all the wonderful ipa-ness you look for, but in a beer you can drink all day.

Appearance: Arrives with a two inch cap sitting on the amber liquid; nice lacing action

Smell: Leafy and fruity with a hint of tobacco

Taste: A touch of bread and caramel make up the backbone, with a very leafy hop profile building through the middle; fruit and tobacco tones add a bit, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I am a big fan of tasty session IPAs and while I am inclined to like this one too I prefer a bit more citrus and tropical fruit than this one delivers
