Lucky to have this on tap in my house pretty often, perks of being local.

Look - pretty straight forward light orange/golden and clear. If you're seeing this beer cloudy, it's chill haze and not the beer.

Smell - dankness blasting right into your face

Taste - Simcoe and citra blast, little bit catty with cactus, some fruityness and nice bitterness

One of my favorite IPAs and my go to whenever it's on tap in the tasting room or at a local bar.

Had this from a growler fill at a local bottle shop.

Appearance: clear golden yellow with a small frothy head.
Smell: Strong citrus smell off the bat.
Taste: lots of citrus, orange, grapefruit and a resiny bitterness at the finish.
Mouthfeel: sticky orangey bitterness.
Overall: Been waiting a while to try this. It disappears fast when tapped at the brewery. Luckily found it on a growler fill at a nearby beer store. Great IPA for Long Island which seems to be lacking in that category. I love citrusy IPA and also bitter, resiny, piney IPAs and this is a nice mix of the two.

picked up a 64 oz fill of this yesterday locally, enjoyed from an IPA glass.

a - brew poured the standard transparent yellow orange with a fairly generous 3 fingers of big frothy head that left massive chunky lacing on the side of the glass and a head that hung out forever.

s - the nose is a bit musty, but dominated by soft citric notes. a bit sweaty and sticky.

t - really smooth and tasty IPA. great hops, nice balance...while still being hop forward. it isn't an all out hop assault, but it is hopped in the way that a good ipa should be. fruity citric with soft bitterness.

m - medium to full bodied...great carb...really solid ipa. some bitterness on the tail of the finish, but not much.

o - overall, SUPER solid IPA from the locals. one of the better american ipas i've had, especially locally produced. is it the best one from long island? i dunno...i was really blown away by field 5 and wet hopped massive from GSB, but this one is up there.

From 09/22/13 notes. Had this on tap at The Jeffrey on the UES in NYC...new bar, which is very cool. $7 for a 16oz. pour in a pint glass.

a - Pours a hazy, bright yellow color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells pine hops, citrus hops, grapefruit, tropical fruits, fruity malts, lemon, earthy notes, floral hops, and mango. Nose is super dank and heavy on the pine. Awesome fresh, hoppy nose to it.

t - Tastes of tropical fruits, mangos, pine hops, fruity malts, grapefruit, lemon, citrus, fruity malts, and bready malts. Taste again is super dank with a lot of tropical fruits to it.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. A very light bitterness to it but not bad at all for an IPA.

o - Overall I've had about 10 different Barrier beers at this point, and this is by far the best one from them that I've had. It is a really good IPA chalk full of pine and tropical fruits, but with little bitterness. A great beer I'd love to have again and would recommend.

First had: on tap at Barrier

Poured a hazy yellow-orange color with a small bubbly white head; minimal retention and a few dots of lacing. Some citrusy hop notes in the aroma, but as with Bittersweet, there was an overpowering scent of body odor and dishwater, as if the glass was not properly cleaned. Maybe the aroma is actually better than I received, maybe not, but either way, seeing how I got this AT the brewery, there's really no excuse. I didn't get this aroma in any other beer except the APA and the IPA, and I find that suspicious. Fortunately, this aroma didn't really transfer to the taste (a little, but not much). Nice citrusy flavors, lemon was dominant to me, with lesser notes of tropical fruit and wildflowers, mild grainy malts. Body was light-medium, carbonation was full. A decent IPA overall, but still somewhat messy, especially that aroma.

Growler. Pours hazy golden with a long lasting, foamy, white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, biscuit malt and ripe fruit. Body is full and tangy. Taste is of citrusy hops, biscuit malt, ripe fruit, brown sugar and sesame seeds (?). Finish is long, very hoppy and grepefruity. Nice hoppy IPA.
