A great place to get unique beers on draft. The food is a little pricey, but then again I'm somewhat of a cheap ass. The ambiance is nice and tavernesque.

Every place has its good as well as it's bad. In a small town with limited clientele I often find more of the bad when I'm looking for good beer and food. Blue Ridge Brewery is definitely an exception to that and somehow consistently provides a good selection of house brews as well as craft beers from all over. Oh, and the food. They have the best burger I have ever eaten. Ever. I have gotten a couple other dishes a couple times (which were still good) but their burgers are something I dream about.

Now lets get nit picky. The house brews are not always extremely consistent. I have noticed them get more consistent with time, so hopefully they can settle down with a winning recipe for each selection. I have yet to have a bad beer from here though. The craft beers on tap are always rotating so you never really know what to expect one week from the next. I am all for that, but some people are all about having their one dependable drink there when they want it. They should get water. It is a somewhat smaller bar and restaurant so you can expect a wait if you come during the busy season. And last, the prices. I find them to be extremely reasonable. No, you are not going to get your Budweiser on tap here for $2. Go down the train tracks and drink with the hobos if that's what you want.

Everything considered, this is one place that I continue to visit over and over again, and for good reason. Don't come in here expecting 50 craft beers on tap. That would be ridiculous for this area. Come in expecting some good beer and great food and service, and you will never be disappointed.

Tried via a flight +2 of every BRB beer they had available on the day I visited.(6) which included the Blonde, Blood,Heff, IPA, Porter and Stout. The heff was tasty but a bit light on flavor and the other were OK but not outstanding with exception to the Stout. Best of the bunch and worth going back for larger amounts the next day.. The American Kobe burger cooked med was phenomenal and the roasted sweet potato chunk things were also very good and well spiced. The new bar area is very nice and service was super friendly especially when they discover you are a beer geek. I bought a logo pint glass for the collection and they gave me several logo coasters. If you are in the area, stop in for the food and give their beer especially the Stout a try.. If not, they also have lots of bottles to choose from as well as a couple of rotating craft drafts

One Saturday... we went for a drive. We ended up in Blue Ridge, so we stopped in for dinner and a beer. As a quick note, highway 60 through the Chattahoochee National Forrest is 30 miles of thrilling mountain road that is probably the best drive in Georgia, and is highly recommended. Just watch out for cops around Suches

Back to the brewery. This is one of those places that I've heard about through friends, but the reviews were never really stellar enough to make the trek up to the mountains for it. After parking, we were immediately seated for dinner in what I think was the main dining room - it was pretty small, no more than 10 tables if I were to guess. There is no way to sugar coat: the dining room was pretty bad. Like a 1970s family room. Luckily that was the only weak part of the experience

I'll actually do something I typically don't do, and that is skip the beer for the food - we were both very pleased with the food. Given the location, I went with the mountain trout, which was excellent, and my girlfriend enjoyed her steak very much. It was a bit of a surprise, as I admit that I suffer from urbanite bias, whereby I just assume rural towns only have crappy food, so I was very happy to see a great menu and two well-done plates. Now, I probably would make sure to go back and eat again, especially if we are ever up in the mountains again.

For the beer, it was also pretty good - I took my time with a sampler. The golden ale was what you'd expect from the style (crap), but the rest were pretty good, highlighted by an excellent stout that I'd love to get more of. Well-done, Blue Ridge! Additionally, they probably had about 20 outside beers in bottles and cans, which included both Belgians and American crafts. A really nice selection of beer, though I'd personally stick with the house brews.

Blue Ridge Brewery in Georgia was a pleasant experience - the food was excellent and the beers were pretty good as well. Service was ok and the prices were fair - beer was normal, though the food prices matched their quality (I think each dish was about $18). Well worth visiting, especially if you're in the area.

My friends and I meet in Blue Ridge once a year for a week-end and used the brewery as our meeting place last year and now this year.

The atmosphere is upscale but comfortable. Very classy with lots of wood and a European feel to the place. They are in the process of expanding so I'm curious to see next year with a new larger bar area.

Not a ton of beers on tap but all of them are high quality stuff. On this last visit they had St Bernardus Abt 12, Omengan Rare Vos, and four or five other top notch brews.

They also had their own beer, Blue Ridge Red, which was absolutely fantastic. I've had plenty brew pup beers over the years and rarely have I been impressed but this stuff was nectar of the gods.

The food is just as good as the beer so frankly if you're near Blue Ridge, it would be a crime not to check it out.

Popped in here for lunch on Tuesday, 8/3/10. I had been following the on-line progress of the Brewery/restaurant for some time and had made a few attempts at getting over there when visiting my family's place in Blue Ridge - but things always conspired to keep me away. Be forewarned, they are closed on Mondays.
I finally made it in and overall the experience was very pleasant. We got there about noon on a Tuesday and were welcomed enthusiastically by the bartender/owner and hostess. There was no wait for a table and they even went to some trouble moving tables to accomodate our party - with the owner getting down on the floor to adjust one of the table legs after moving it.

They weren't pouring their beers yet, but I was told that they were just a week or so away. In the meantime, they had St Bernardus 12, Victory Hefe, DFH India Brown and Spaten on tap, with several other bottled choices. All in all, a nice tight little line-up with good representation of several styles. We ordered several food items (a burger, greek salad, roast beef sandwich, black&bleu salad and an angus dog) and everyone was happy with their meal. The chef came out to talk to the table next us and I think he would have checked in with us, but we were involved in a pretty deep discussion.

Looking at my ratings, I want to emphasize that this is not a big place and I probably elevated them a little because of their location. Finding a gem like this in Blue Ridge is a rare treat. So take it for what it's worth. In you are in the area, visit because it's definitely the best beer place within an hour's drive.

Atmosphere: this is a cozy place but very friendly. Several tables in the dining area, a small bar area and an outdoor patio. Not too loud, but it seems like a place where fun folks would congregate. Don't expect a big place or sportsbar vibe.

Quality: as I said, nice tight beer selection and the lunch was excellent. Nothing too complex, but several steps up from pub grub.

Service: friendly and first rate.

Selection: small, but I'm eagerly awaiting to sample their own brews. It's not always about having 20+ taps on the wall. I'd rather have a half dozen solid choices. I can only drink so much when I'm with my family.

Food: see Quality

Value: I thought the lunch pricing was good.

I visited this place thanks to a tip from another BAer. At the time of my visit, they were just given the green light to brew their own beer, however they were not offering it for sale yet. That was fine with me as I got to enjoy a Stone Smoked Porter on tap (there were also three other taps going, each of which offered excellent choices).

I came here for lunch with my family (8 of us in total). The bartender immediately greeted us as we walked in a led us through a pub-type setting, through a quaint, modern dining area, to the outside patio. He he went through all four tap selections, describing the style and flavors. He also offered samples if anyone was unsure of what to get. He sounded pretty legit.

Next, our waitress came out and took our orders. Between all of us, we pretty much ordered each lunch option available so I was able to sample just about everything - I really enjoyed each dish I tried. The head chef even came out to make sure everything was up to par, which isn't something I have seen at a lunch. Nice touch.

I would highly recommend going to this if you are in town. The dinner menu looked fantastic, albeit about double lunch prices, but we did a lot of cooking this trip so I didn't get to go back for dinner. And, more importantly, this looked like the place to go for high quality brews in the area.

Also, look out for the rooster on your way in.
