Why are Miracle Mike and his dog, Bionic, being chased by many evil laser beam shooting cupcakes and two giant layer cake mother ships? Because we're straight lunatic fools? Well, maybe, but with a few brains cells remaining we managed to craft Space Cake double IPA, utilizing citrusy Mosaic hops and an immaculate West Coast style malt backbone. Dude... Chill out. Enjoy some Space Cake.

Pours a cloudy orange color with lots of lacing and lots of head. Taste is fruit along with some caramel notes. Definite orange zest that plays nicely with the malts. Perfect amount of bitterness to finish. That being said, taste is solid but I've tasted this IPA before from many different brewers. It's a good IPA but nothing that should be rated a 90+. And I love Clown Shoes but this one isn't at the sterling level I've grown to know them for.

12 oz can enjoy by date 1/31/24 into a Becher glass.
L: SRM 5 Pours straw caramel with a 1/4" off white head, ok retention down to a thick skin & edge foam, plenty of fine steady carbonation bubbles, medium webbed antique lacing.
S: Pineapple, earthy guava fruit, hard candied caramelized malts, cereal grains with warming.
T: Lots of pine resin and citrus zest up front, full tasting sweet caramelized malts, "spicy" hops, orange marmalade, confectionery sugar, grapefruit, pineapple, guava, stone fruit, light melon, it is tart and is lightly sharp with a resinous linger.
F: Snappy, brisk, semi-juicy medium-bodied feel. Has a full middle and a firm medium-length fairly drying finish.
O: A highly resinous and full-flavored DIPA. All tastes are strong/mildly intense. Rich fruity tastes and a resinous dry finish. It is excellent in its style. I would like to try this on tap.

Pours a golden orangish color with great head. Looks great

Smell is big pine and loads of bright citrus

T- huge pine. Like massive earthy forest pine. Abv is hidden well. Some citrus notes as well, honey. Not super complex but the simplicity works for it here

M- oily with good bitterness

O- I’ve had some good stuff from Clown shoes and I’ve had some that’s not bad but is just kind of ho hum. This one is really good though. I’d order this at a bar

I can believe BeerAdvocate rated this Double IPA! It’s good, but not 91 Outstanding Good. I have had better! Where’s the pine, grapefruit, hops, etc. It taste more of a Cocktail than an IPA

Canned 7/10/23, and poured into a pint glass. Pours orange with a fairly nice beige head that does stick around for a while and leaves nice lacing. Smell would indicate this is a very flavorful beer, with the hops and malts all coming out. The taste is where this one loses points. Almost no hop presence, but it is fairly malty. I understand this is a double IPA, but I would have expected WAY more hops. The mouthfeel is fairly smooth and medium bodied, and the alcohol is there. I don't really care for this one to be honest, but I can see some light-beer drinkers liking this one. Needs more hops. Lots more hops.

I like the look, nice head, and tastes pretty good. Rating my second can of the four pack, the first can I panned but today's pour is pretty nice, though I might try for another selection. Nice subdued hoppy taste, I do enjoy that you can taste the 9%.
