22 ounce bottle, bottled on 03/14/14. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with an inch tan head that stayed around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted/burnt malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, anise, molasses and piney hops. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some dark fruit (plums, figs) and milk chocolate. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I've been a fan of the other Clown Shoes stouts I've tried in the past, and this one is enjoyable too. I think it's a good overall brew, I'd pick this one up again. $9.99 a bomber.

22 ounce portion of Clown Shoes beers everyone wins, I love them. That's bad there's a couple beers from them that are okay but they're dark beers tend to kick ass. This is a version of Blaecorn Unidragon with the abv dialed down to 11.5% abv to be legal in the state of Ohio. So they made the Unidragon attacking Cleveland with a Burning River and Skeletons playing from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame wearing Browns helmets...yes they should do a version for every major city...I always get a kick out of their artwork. Pours beautiful opaque darkness in a glass, dark mocha tan head, large bubbles slow bubbled carbonation. Aroma dark roasted malts come off very nicely, a hint of herbal hops/wood aging not sure if there is any but it takes on that soy sauce quality of Umami meatiness that you can just sink your teeth in to. In hind sight it has some dark fruit mainly plump over ripened raisins that are bursting with concentrated fruit based sugars. Flavor dark roasted malt drying qualities boarding on burnt charcoal with a hint of oak wood, dry herbal hop finish, slightly alcoholic burn in the finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied stout, again the kind you can sink your teeth into. Overall a complex imperial stout tasty, strong finish meant for drinking with friends. But I will tell you this, the Undead Party Crasher and Mexican mole' beers are insanely complex.

A - pours a dark black with light colored head and strong lacing.

S - man, this beer smells gross, i dont even know how a russian imperial stout can smell like this. it literally smells like an open air meat market i was at recently in mexico city... chicken that hasnt been refrigerated, beef, ew.

T - thank god this beer doesnt taste like how it smells. strong bitter back end with prune, fig, and cacao flavors on the front, still disappointing

M - thinner than i like my russian imperials and far too think for an 11%er

O - really, do not buy this beer. its terrible smell and overall disappointment led me to write my first beer review on here in years... i seriously dont even understand what is going on and why its so bad. avoid!

Beautifully dark brew; basically no head as the bottle cap was knocked loose in transit. I can't knock the beer for that, but neither can I give it full credit.

Big roasty aroma, like barley swimming in a sea of black coffee. A touch of sour red grapes, and an even lighter touch of char. Big. Intimidating.

Perfectly balanced RIS: bold; roasty; hoppy; bitter; aggressive. Hops leave a grassy, bitter finish after a roasty assault has coated your palate.

Mouthfeel was mostly flat due to the bottle cap, but it's a big, smooth brew, a touch hot, and a touch thin for the style.

Very good beer, as expected. For review purposes, I attempted to look beyond the bottle cap issue, which was not Clown Shoes' fault.

Ohio Unidragon brewed by Clown Shoes, with an ABV 11.50% This brew pours out deep brown color with a nice light brown head. It has the look of cola or root beer. The smell is bold and rich with grains, and malts. Ohio Unidragon has a real nice inviting smell to it. The taste is bold with flavor, you pick up on roasted malts, and grains. There is also a hit of a mild sweetness at the end of this brew. The mouthfeel is full bodied with, a bold rich flavor. This brew has a nice balance to it there is nothing overpowering in it. I like how smooth this brew is, it has a clean refreshing finish to it.. You really can not pick up the 11.50% ABV in this brew. Ohio Unidragon is a real nice, smooth drinking brew. Overall I'm giving Ohio Unidragon a 4.5 out 5. Clown Shoes did a nice job with this one. I would buy this brew again.

Dark black body serves up a thick froth. The aroma is hoppy and bitter for the style but it has hints of dry bitter cocoa and burnt malts. The flavor is creamer with roasted coffee, burnt coffee bean, bitter dry chocolate, malty chocolate balls and smoky embers. The feel is substantial but dry and 11.5 pct ABV is completely lost. This was well worth a $9 try but it is better served warmer.

Thoroughly enjoyed from a bomber, this fine imperial pours a lush dark black with a firm tan head that dissipates to a modest ring with nice lacing. Nose of bakers chocolate, dark roast coffee, dark roasted malts, some heavy grains, and deeply roasted malts with tinges of dark fruits of plums and cherries. Flavors flow nicely with dark bitter bakers chocolate and French roast coffee blending in with deeply roasted malts. Fruit flavors lightly poke their head in on the sides with a bitter coffee and chocolate aftertaste. Beefy. Smooth moderate carbonation gives it a lighter flavor, but the alcohol burn and heavily roasted flavors easily remind one they are drinking and imperial stout, light at the beginning but heavy on the back. Very nice. Another good one from a great brewery.

Not a big Clown Shoes fan but this is really tasty, not a big aroma, very smooth on the taste not getting any bitterness up front, nothing really impressive but I am not disappointed. Picked this up in a trade, it's not available in CA. Worth a shot, there are better imperial stouts out there than this.

Ohio Unidragon - Clown Shoes. Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass, this beer's head is four fingers thick, tan and spongy, along with solid lacing, and a nearly black body.

I smell licorice and roasted malts more than anything. Perhaps a boozey note in there.

Tastes like a fair bit of chocolate, very nicely roasted malts, and a surprisingly sweet finish. Not as much booze astringency as the aroma would lead one to believe. Pretty drinkable.

This brew's mouthfeel is smooth and clean. No lingering elements.

Overall, I'll give Ohio Unidragon - Clown Shoes a 4.75. I'll probably pick this up again.

Waited a year on this one, since I heard mixed reviews when it was released. Pours pitch black, fluffy tan head that lasts down the glass and decent lacing. Smells roasty and chocolatey, but strong herbal aroma as well. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, burnt toast. Herbal and pine bitterness follow, but the aftertaste brings back the roastiness. Medium-heavy, slick mouthfeel. Also, great label geared towards Cleveland. This one was a pleasure.

Aroma notes: chocolate, vanilla, sugar, honey, roasted coffee beans.

Thanks clown shoes for going the extra mile with this release, ABV laws be dammed! Nothing to big about this one flavor wise just a solid RIS.
