Waited a year on this one, since I heard mixed reviews when it was released. Pours pitch black, fluffy tan head that lasts down the glass and decent lacing. Smells roasty and chocolatey, but strong herbal aroma as well. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, burnt toast. Herbal and pine bitterness follow, but the aftertaste brings back the roastiness. Medium-heavy, slick mouthfeel. Also, great label geared towards Cleveland. This one was a pleasure.

22 ounce bottle, bottled on 03/14/14. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with an inch tan head that stayed around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted/burnt malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, anise, molasses and piney hops. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some dark fruit (plums, figs) and milk chocolate. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I've been a fan of the other Clown Shoes stouts I've tried in the past, and this one is enjoyable too. I think it's a good overall brew, I'd pick this one up again. $9.99 a bomber.

Ohio Unidragon - Clown Shoes. Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass, this beer's head is four fingers thick, tan and spongy, along with solid lacing, and a nearly black body.
I smell licorice and roasted malts more than anything. Perhaps a boozey note in there.
Tastes like a fair bit of chocolate, very nicely roasted malts, and a surprisingly sweet finish. Not as much booze astringency as the aroma would lead one to believe. Pretty drinkable.
This brew's mouthfeel is smooth and clean. No lingering elements.
Overall, I'll give Ohio Unidragon - Clown Shoes a 4.75. I'll probably pick this up again.

Retired. Damn, I had better grab another one of these at the Giant Eagle. Poured into the snifter (and split with my lovely wife)... big, dark CS beer... what could go wrong here? Midnight black, with a thin ring of chocolate-tinged head. Silent and inviting like the murky depths of Davy Jones locker... ha ha. This is a black hole. Huge roasty malts and chocolate notes on the nose. Some coffee bitterness if you really work on it (e.g. swirling, etc), and a hint of a smoky note. Big roasty bitterness on the palate, not a hop bitterness, but a nice coffee bitterness. Good stuff. 11.5% with no noticeable alcohol? WTF? Lingering roastiness and bitterness from this meal of a beer. This sipper will stick to your ribs. Another successful Clown Shoes big beer.

Thoroughly enjoyed from a bomber, this fine imperial pours a lush dark black with a firm tan head that dissipates to a modest ring with nice lacing. Nose of bakers chocolate, dark roast coffee, dark roasted malts, some heavy grains, and deeply roasted malts with tinges of dark fruits of plums and cherries. Flavors flow nicely with dark bitter bakers chocolate and French roast coffee blending in with deeply roasted malts. Fruit flavors lightly poke their head in on the sides with a bitter coffee and chocolate aftertaste. Beefy. Smooth moderate carbonation gives it a lighter flavor, but the alcohol burn and heavily roasted flavors easily remind one they are drinking and imperial stout, light at the beginning but heavy on the back. Very nice. Another good one from a great brewery.
Cheers!

Bomber. Pours a midnight black with a thick frothy dark tan head. Aroma of coffee and roasted notes. Palate is overwhelmed with roasted malts, burnt cocoa, and dark coffee grinds. Alcohol creeps on you.

This one-off from CS is now nearly a year old, and, as the most recent ratings show, this brew is aging wonderfully! The original heat has faded greatly bringing out the chocolately, smokey tastes and aromas.
This beer looks, and smells world-class and the taste isn't far behind. It's also (now) a fairly easy drinker for a RIS.
Would definitely buy again. Makes me wanna try the original- Blaecorn Unidragon.
