I might've waited on this one too long cuz I'm not getting much in the aroma or flavor.

On tap at the Flaming Grill Cafe, Sacramento. Well hopped IPA with citrus fruit (actually Citra hops) in aroma and flavour. Refreshing, well balanced and pleasant to drink.

May 18th, 2016 - This curiously wrapped beer is semi-fruity and semi-dank. A sampling of the nose also reveals some very ripe papaya, and tiny doses of banana and clementine. It's a deep and intoxifying fermented fruit smell, and returns in the flavor, too. A soft, silky palate almost gives this a fruit smoothie taste, redolent with POG, and a medium aftertaste that hones in on the papaya flavor the most. Fruity and a little steely, this is bright and engaging, and shines with tropical radiance.

Photosphere Phil is out of retirement I suppose. Bottle date of 07/15/16. The appearance of Photosphere Phil is something else for sure; decent head topped with hipster glasses, big bushy beard, starfish (?) shorts, some big ol' clown shoes, riding on a lawnmower-vacuum-chaise lounge chair hybrid in outer space but wait! We're talking about the beer here!
Excuse me. Average looking IPA on the pour, golden-honey hue, small head with a small amount of sticky lace. Piney, oranges, lemon zest and grapefruit. Light malt backbone. Taste kicks things up a notch; like a bearded heathen launching itself toward the sun this brew drives hops home on your pallete. Very nice notes of pine, grapefruit, citrus zest. Citrus citrus citrus. Hints of fresh cut grass, straw, soil, solar flares and good times.
Finishes off with a crisp, floral bitterness that is kept at ease by a nudge of the malt base that delivers a baked bready goodness as this one warms. Great IPA by Clown Shoes.

Pours nice head. Orange peels and citrus aroma. Taste citrus. Oranges, mango, grapefruit, slight caramel, a little pine, hints of floral, very little booze. This is balanced and extremely drinkable. Another gem from clown shoes.

Photosphere Phil pours a hazy yellow-amber hue with a frothy, foamy white head. With an enticing aroma of mango and kiwi, I could tell this was going to be a good one. A flavor reminiscent of 'ruby-red grapefruit' dominates, so much so that I almost imagined the pulpy quality of juice being present. This must be the influence of the Citra hops. I also found this beer to have an excellent and welcomed malty backbone to it. The finish is quite heavy, in a positive way. As a less intense version of my favorite Clown Shoes IPA, Space Cake, I'm very impressed. Always good to have a roster of lower alcohol IPAs that pack plenty a flavorful punch!
