Holy fruit, hop, deliciousness! Very grapefruit/pineapple/mango forward. I've never tasted an American IPA quite like this before! The guys from clown shoes deliver another great brew the world and I'm so glad it's readily available in PA. Great balance of flavor and overall a brew I would session since its not crazy high in abv.

From the bottom of the can: CANNED 05/24/16

Appearance: The head of the beer is pretty large and both fluffy and creamy looking. It is slightly off-white, about an eggshell color, and it has very good retention. The body of the beer is extremely hazy. It is a dark burnished gold and copper color that changes depending on how the light strikes it.

Aroma: It has a very nice sweet smelling fruity tangerine aroma. There is a touch of peach in there as well. It is a very inviting aroma. It doesn't give off that "fresh hop" aroma but the fruity tangerine and peach aroma is very nice.

Taste: It has an interesting flavor up front. It is a bit like a sweet caramel sauce and then it is immediately followed by a grain flavor. There isn't a ton of bitterness at first but the finish and aftertaste bring in a good deal of bitterness that just kind-of hangs out at the end.

Mouthfeel: It has good carbonation and it has a nice bitterness that is a bit resinous yet not aggressive. The body is light-to-medium and it has a good dry finish.

Overall: I enjoyed the beer and I would drink it again. I would recommend buying it at least once if you enjoy IPA's because it is a good beer and it's good to know that for future reference. I don't think I would make this a regular purchase but if it was mixed in an ice chest with a bunch of my other favorite IPA's and I grabbed it at random I wouldn't put it back and fish out something else.

12 oz 2016 can at Fall L.E.A.F.
Large thick foamy head over a hazy amber body.

Moderately strong aroma partially conceals what's coming : a true hop bomb complete with high bitterness and a very strong hop note mid taste, and lasting grapefruit peel in the aftertaste.

Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed, gold with 2+ fingers of pearl colored head. Stays effervescent, sheets of lacing & great head retention, cleared nicely

S: Grapefruit, slight graininess, a little mango as this warms

T: Grapefruit & dryness up front, a little mango up front. More grapefruit, mango & little pineyness as this warms. Finishes with mango, pomelo & crispness

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, great balance

Nice IPA, very drinkable

Date on the bottom of the can reads 05/05/16 or 05/15/16. Either way it is fresh.

Hazy amber with a solid finger of head that slowly settled to a thick cap. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left down the glass. Smells like orange marmalade on toast. I would guess they used some Golden Promise malt in this beer. A little bit of musty aroma as well. Flavors of orange, other citrus. dank fruity flavors, and toasted malt.
Nice carbonation that is lively but not harsh and a good pairing for an IPA.

A bit of a different direction than most breweries are going with IPAs. But not special enough than a dozen local or regional IPAs that also come in cans. So I highly doubt a repeat purchase.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a hazy, golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of tangerine, orange peels. Taste is tangerine, orange and lemon peels, moderate bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a smooth and refreshing beer.

From the 12 fl. oz. can. Smudged unreadable date on the bottom. Sampled on July 19, 2016.

Olive-yellow pour under a modest, quick lasting white head.

Aroma of breaded malts and mellow grass, herbs, and fruit.

The body is medium.

The taste also brings out a fruity, herbal, and biting hop character.

-Canned 06.11.16. Consumed 10.04.16. in spiegelau ipa glass.

A: Dense bright pumpkin orange coloring has a lively factor of carbonation. Atop is a 1.5 inch head, off white, healthy standing that provides a light glass dressing upon demise. Nice coloring overall.

S: Nose of bready orange peel with a faint wiff of tropical hops. Some diminishing strength perhaps due to age.

T: Flavor was spicy and bright, of tropical hops, certainly no wear and tear or diminishing factor here, is a good sign. Wet and crisp in flavor, with a big bite of juicy tropical fruit, peach, and pear juice, backed by bready malts, cascade hops and some grapefruit. A touch of funky yeast, almost hefeweizen, with a ever so slight notice of smokey wheat on the finish.

M: Crisp mouthful, edgy, very sharp and playful, with a medium-heavy malt base.

O: Crisp and very sharp in delivery, big tropical flavor upfront finishes with a beautiful lingering hop fade of flowery orange and pine. Very good overall, 87, a tad bit undervauled at time of sampling.
