Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a snifter.

Look-This beer is extremely dark and has about a 1 inch head with a sticky lace.

Smell-The smell is smoky pine with a sweet undertone of citrus and maple.

Taste- The taste is burnt pine with a heavy hop mouth kick and finishes with bitter citrus

feel-The feel is a very lingering taste that is rich in flavor and stays around for a while.Very filling and gets better as the beers warms to room temp.

Overall-I really wanted to try this beer and was able to get my hands on it.I was impressed by the smell and look but was blown away by the first sip.I love this style of beer and recommend anyone who loves dark beer and hops to try this one.

The beer is very dark thin tan head with visible carbonation around the edges. Smells of roasty malts and dark fruits with a little mild alcohol scent. The beer was a little drying and had a short finish. A quick medium malt sweetness followed quickly with biscuit-like mild malt and a mild alcohol with moderate hoppy bitterness.

Great mouth feel and taste. Very dark. Didn't get much head, but great lace. I love ipa but am gravitating more toward stouts and porters simply for mouth feel. First black ipa for me. Really liked it.

Pours black with no light getting through. There is a creamier light tan head that mostly disappears but still leaves some good small sticky lacing. The aroma is very faint with just a whisp of pine hops. The taste is a little more robust but not by much. It is pretty heavily carbonated, as well. What there is is pretty good but there needs to be more.

Another black ipa, must be reviewing some 2012/2013 beers. Solid full inch of head on a black beer that had some brown running through it. Aroma was more roasty than hoppy, nope that's not how you're supposed to do it.

Lots of bitter roastiness. Body is hefty. This is a porter. This is not an ipa. Decent, but terrible style guideline stuff on this one.
