Dark brown with ruby highlights. Thick, fluffy, blonde/tan head that recedes to a permanant cap, and leaves lots of lacing.

Smell is chocolate covered raisins and sweet, malty bread dough.

Taste is sweet, roasty, chocolate and nuts, with dried dark fruits and a pleasant bite of bitter citrus.

The head adds a bit of creaminess to the mouthfeel and there's enough carbonation to prickle your tongue and liven things up.

Poured into a tulip glass. Thanks for sharing, Alan.

A: Deep brown with a billowy 4 finger head that wouldn't leave. The carbonation on this beauty was relentless.

S: Caramel, nuts, bready malt, cocoa, with a hint of citrus hops.

T: Sweet, robust, with toffee, coffee, malts, nuts and an unexpected finish of light bitterness.

M: Medium to heavy with medium carbonation. Chewy, thick and lovely.

O: A terrific brown I'd love to hook up with again sometime.

Not too many brewers get the brown+hops thing right. This is pretty decent. Still prefer straight brown as the mix never feels quite right. Pours dark brown with clingy tan foam. Nice heavy malt aroma mixed with some fruitiness. Taste gets a little wonky with some grapefruit bitter on top of the malt backbone. Finish is pretty smooth, though somewhat dry. Not bad.

Without a doubt the best American Brown Ale I've ever had.

Sexy label, let’s see if it delivers.
Light brown color with a thick two finger beige head with good retention and leaving laces.
Aroma with lots of cocoa and coconut, some citrusy and nuts.
Aroma was good, but not exceptional which made me caught off-guard for its flavor. It was delicious and unique with notes of pine, floral and citrus-grapefruit , toasted and roasted malts, cassis liquor from its blackcurrants, coconut, mild charcoal, nuts, black forest cake, powdered milk, spices and finishing with cocoa and mild tobacco. Dry and bitter aftertaste. Forty IBUs was the magic number for this beer.
Medium towards full body with appropriate carbonation. Somewhat creamy. Alcohol of 7% abv is completely absent.
This brew made my day. Flavorful (Double) Brown Ale with a character of its own and excellent complexity. I was actually trying to picture a better brown ale. Interesting that I noticed high ratings and very few outliners with very low ratings, probably driving this at sub-outstanding ratings (please reserve your evaluations to your mommy/daddy beers, not this sexy brown angel). Jokes apart, I also noticed improvement over time, so keep it as it is. Congrats!
