1333rd Review on BA
Bottle to Tulip
22oz
Bottled 2/2012
Purchased for $5.99 at Lees Discount Liquor, Las Vegas
App- A orb looking dark orange with yellow highlights and a little gold in the bottom. Semi dense in the glass with a two finger light tan head. Great cling and lace.
Smell- A big beer to say the least. A bunch of caramel with a deep orange and creamy hops. Fairly dank as the label says. Very full on the nose with a good earthy base.
Taste- In the words of the label. Wicked nice. Nomah would be proud. Big dank and juicy hops. Not overly bitter with a deep citrus and a bit of a piney spice. Nice balance just a tad thick. Might be the age or just intended. Just large.
Mouth- A full medium body bordering on full itself. A medium thick carbonation level. A bunch of thick spicy malts and deep citrus with some creamy malts.
Drink- A good beer. Maybe a tad old but thats on me. Has good balance with a thick spicy malt creamy hop combo. I'd have this one again.

Better than average appearance, almost a full inch of dense head. Somewhere between yellow and orange appearance. Aroma lacked hops. Grainy and that's about all folks.
Totally lacking hop flavor taste. Same with mouthfeel. Bitter and malty. Caramel prominent because not much else besides the bitterness is.
In serious danger of failing, but I gave him a D+ for the ol' college try.

Color- dark honey. Medium head.
Aroma- maple syrup, oatmeal, topaz hops.
Taste- Starts sweet and syrupy then finishes with a dank lingering hoppiness. Maybe this was not a fresh bottle? Just a disappointing brew in a very crowded market.
Poured from 650 ml bomber into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted December 2012.
