Bought at Total Wine & More in Boynton Beach Florida and brought back home to Sweden just a few weeks ago.

The beer pours like thick, black oil into the #Orrefors Stout glass with a thin beige head leaving lacing on the inside.

Nose: Coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, roasted malt, brown sugar, molasses and wood.
Taste: Coffee, oak, roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, grain and tobacco.
Mouth: Full body. Complex structure. Light carbonation. Dry and light bitter ending. Smooth.

Appearance: dark brown in color with a 1/4" head that disappears to some large surface bubbles.

Smell: roasted coffee and some earthy tones rise from the glass.

Taste: roasted malt, espresso, dark chocolate, some brown sugar, and an earthy finish. Bitterness is hearty and alcohol is well hidden.

Mouthfeel: heavy in body. Lightly crisp to start, smoother and slightly dry at the finish. Long lasting aftertaste.

Overall: well balanced big stout that is slow sipping but extremely satisfying.

Poured into a snifter. A nearly opaque dark brown color with a one-finger tan head. The foam settled quickly, leaving a lacy cap. Big roasted coffee and roasted malt on the nose with a hint of milk chocolate. I tasted a softly bitter coffee note first, followed by rich roasted malt, cocoa and a bit of char. Full-bodied and not too sweet. A great Imperial Stout.

Served in a snifter right from the bottle.

Appearance: Dark brownish motor oil body with a nice thick dark tan head rising just under a finger's length. Drops quick after two or three sips with a sticky lacing effect on the wall of the glass.

Smell: smells like warm sugar, brown sugar and light notes of malts.

Taste: Complex sweet coffee, brown sugar with light malts. The coffe can easily be confused with espresso because it is a tad on the bitter side but still smooth.

Mouth: Little dry with a semi-sticky finish.

Overall: Honestly wish I knew how much I paid for the beer, I'd definitely grab it again but last time I went back to my beer store they were gone. Enjoy with lust and happy new year...Salud!

Bought a bottle at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow, MA. The beer has a black appearance with no visibility and a thin, brown color head. Aromas immediately show off a strong chocolate and malts smell. Taste follows the nose but is a little more restrained in the coffee-chocolate flavor balance compared to the smell. It's a very creamy and milky beer in terms of mouthfeel. Overall, excellent aromas and mouthfeel.

Pours black, with no head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, some cherries, malt and smoke.

Taste is right in line with a strong stout, with chocolate, sweetened coffee, smoked persimmons, some vanilla, and licorice. Lots of tastes merging and changing, it's not stopping. Tobacco and molasses, especially as it warms. This is listed as an American stout but I'd place it close to Russian territory. Tipping point of burnt malts is close. Nuttiness, and some veggie pepper too. Chewy zombies.

Takeaway is the alcohol molasses sweetness that coats your lips and tongue, Sticky, almost too much.

You want an imperial stout? You got it here. Aggressive with a creamy finish. Maybe greater than the sum of its part, because it has so many of them.

Pours pitch black color with a solid 1 finger tan/brown colored head that was full of tiny bubbles and dissipated very slowly, leaving excellent foamy lacing coating the sides and sticking to the glass as rings formed the more it went down.

Smells of burnt wood, charred grains, smoke, dark chocolate, burnt coffee grinds and light piney hops to start - I like how this is going...then it continues with cocoa powder, light vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, anise and herbal notes. It's mostly a smoked malt bomb, but there are enough peppery spices and hoppy accents to resemble balance.

Tastes smokey and full of chocolate upon the initial sip, with burnt wood, charred grains, smoke or burnt marshmallow, dark chocolate, burnt coffee grinds and light piney hops starting it off, then letting the chocolate, roasted malts and coffee accents continue with a blend of brown sugar, cocoa powder, light vanilla, molasses, black licorice, coffee beans or vanilla beans, and then more chocolate which reminds me of the Lindt Chili Excellence Bar that has trailing heat from the chili peppers (I looked it up online, as I knew it was Lindt but don't have a photographic memory....). End result is a very nice tasting imperial stout.

Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, yet rich and textured at the same. This has a heavy to chewy feel and body, very mild carbonation and a mild bitterness that kicks in before the chocolate, malts and coffee notes wrestle for attention as this fades off on the sweet and smoky side but with some nice bitter hoppy and/or floral notes. This beer hides the 10% ABV masterfully as there was never a hint of that strength mixed in with the wonderful complexities. Overall a really good imperial stout that I'll buy whenever I see it.
