Got them fancy clothes. Got that big car, suicide doors, 8 track stereo, color TV's. Livin' the American dream, now you've got a brew as smooth as chorus from Al Green. Brash Brewing and Clown Shoes each made a brown ale at Mercury, then blended them. You don't have to have solid gold pants to enjoy... but it helps.

22 oz. bottle poured into Weyerbacher tulip. Bottle dated
May 2012.
A - Pours dark brown with two fingers of cream colored head. Good retention and even better lacing.
S - Sourdough bread malts, whole grain, roasted almonds, and a bit of vanilla. Pretty good.
T - Starts a little bit sweet with the vanilla and malts. Earth and nuts in the middle. The finish is a drying blast of char. Lingers for a while on the taste buds. Alcohol may contribute to the slight burn and tingly feeling my tongue is left with after each sip. Becomes more drinkable and complex as it warms.
M - Carbonation is perfect and the body is a bit thin for a beer with this much flavor and booze. Slick on the tongue beyond the finish.
O - This one just started popping up all over shelves and got around to trying it tonight. It grew on me as it warmed and I drank more. Complex blend of nutty with an abundance of smoke on the back end. Good stuff, I would like to try the version blended with Blaecorn.

Bottled 5/2012. Dark chocolate malt, earthy, toffee and a bit of dark fruit. Some oxidation. Medium, dry finish. Not much sweetness to this. Can hardly taste the alcohol but it's warming my chest. Not bad, but probably should have drank this sooner.

From tasting notes. Appearance: deep chocolate brown to rich mahogany, 2” tan head Smell: chocolate nose with a little roast Taste: starts chocolaty with some fruit in the middle and ends dry, with a dry but malty finish Mouthfeel: Creamy smooth medium full body with a slight alcohol warming.

Tastes more like a stout than a brown. Good but not great.
