Poured from a pint can dated 8/16/17, the beer is a rich copper color, a bit murky (but not "milkshake murky), and a full tan head. The nose is immediately caramalt - HEAVY caramalt - with an almost tea-like quality sneaking in, and a spicy, piney hop character.

The taste is led by the caramalt, but there's a significant piney, fruity hop presence that sets up camp on the back of the palate.

This is an old school DIPA, and it's very well executed, IMHO.

16oz can dated 7/27/17.

Pours clear copper with a minimal head, retention, or lacing. Aromatics lead off with earthy pine with grapefruit. Some faint wet paper and malt follow through. Medium bodied and a bit sticky. West-coast styling on the palate. Pine with grapefruit with some sweet malt to balance. Finishes bitter with some wet cardboard.

Tastes pretty old-school and getting stale as well.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a IPA glass.
Look- copper, opaque, nice lacing, good head retention.
Smell- citrusy, slightly malty.
Taste- sharp citrus taste up front and a little weak on the finish, so a little unbalanced, slightly boozy.
Feel- nice consistency.
Overall- solid beer, but a touch to malty in my opinion.

Pours a clear (mostly, lots of very fine sediment is in suspension) copper with two fingers of creamy off-white head, settles slowly with thick rings trailing partway down the glass. Smell: dried grass, pine, whole grapefruit, background stone fruit sweetness. Taste: background is lightly toasted grain and steely caramel. Marjoram, candied grapefruit rind, mildly astringent pine upfront. A little overripe cantaloupe as it opens up. Finishes sticky with resin and grapefruit lingering. Just shy of full bodied, with a velvety feel. Canned 7/14. I assumed it would be galaxy heavy based on the name, but it's just not coming through. This is way too herbal / grassy / piney, rather than the galaxy sweet spot of tropical / citrus / melon. One of those "can't go wrong" hops that apparently can go wrong. Still, this is a decent throwback east coast DIPA.

Canned 7/14/17... features Galaxy hops - if you hadn't inferred as such from the name... Clear medium amber beer with a tall head of ivory foam that left nice lace sheeting behind... Aromas of passion fruit and citrus... On the sip, those fruity elements get a glaze of resin and pine, bringing the sugars and bitters into a nice balance... Medium-light, smooth and shellacky; mild carbonation, moderate bitterness... Good stuff...
