Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, bright, amber coloring with a steady flow of carbonation and a thin, sparse, off-white surface coat of head. Aromas of tangy sweet caramel, resiny and piney hops, grapefruit and mango sweet, and a subtle roasting. Flavors are roast and rich caramel sweet forward, with a very quick hops bitterness to follow. Tropical fruit notes combine with the piney notes to balance the rich, sweet backbone. Light, effervesced body keeps this beer very drinkable, with a tangy, tropical sweet aftertaste. Clean, effervescent finish with a subtle drying. Very drinkable and refreshing.

Part of the 12 beers of xmas mix pack. Albeit, past it's prime, however it Has been kept in cold storage since I bought it. 12oz can. 6% ABV red lager. Dry-hopped with Simcoe and Citra.

Pours to a lightly hazy red. There is a fair amount of very fine sediment suspended in the beer. Forms a tall white head with average retention and decent lacing. Carbonation is moderate, ~2.5 carbs or so. The nose is nice. The hop presence is still quite good. Lightly fruity and spicy hop notes with a wholesome grainy malt note, like freshly baked multigrain bread and bread pudding. Mouthfeel is smooth, medium dense bodied with a lightly dry finish. Clean lager ferment, no DMS or diacetyl. Still tastes pretty good too...my favorite part is the lightly husky multigrain cracker character with a light malty sweetness. Full of flavor. Bitterness is medium firm. No off flavors or aromas.

This one was pretty nice. A hoppy red lager without any flaws, IMO. Well brewed. Hoppy lagers are not my usual fare, but I would buy this one again.

From the can, it pours a reddish amber color with a modest off-white head that slowly reduces. The nose gets some citrus: primarily grapefruit. The mouth gets the same: sweetish grapefruit forward followed by the caramel and other malt.

Note: from the 12 Beers of Christmas pack and beyond the best before date.

12oz can, stange, best by 1/31/23.

Light to moderately hazed amber with a great head. Three fingers of big bubbles.

Bright grapefruit, orange slice, caramel malt, biscuit.

Sweet, caramel, light toast, and the citrus hop flavors. Light grapefruit, pith, dried orange peel.

Moderate body and medium carbonation.

The hops show more than most lagers. Nice swig-able lager.

Got this from the Christmas 12 Pack. Poured a nice copper color with an inch of head. Very crisp almost bitter taste that lingers pretty long. Pretty good

From a 12oz can, best by 01/31/23. From the 12 Beers of Christmas holiday variety pack. Served in a willi becher.

Pours a slightly cloudy, reddish root beer colour with a scant finger of creamy suds. Retention is fairly decent, leaving a fizzy cap and a rousable sheet of thin, slippery lacing.

Nose is malty with maybe a slight tree bark-like aroma but, otherwise, unremarkable.

Taste is bready with earthy, tree bark-like bitterness. Tasting a little root beer, too, or cold tea with lemon. Gritty, tannic bitterness.

Feel is crisp, clean and quenching, medium bodied and brightly carbonated.

Overall, pretty good stuff. Goes down mighty easily.

Swagger, part of the '22 12 Beers of Christmas pack.

Clown Shoes

Lager-American Amber / Red

A very nice crispy malt bite hits first. Sweet and bready malt flavor and then a dry hop kick of dried leaves and pine doubles up. Crisp bite at first then seriously smooth and dry in the finish. Wildly easy to drink and nice pause from all my big IPA's

This is from the "12 Beers of Christmas" pack.
From the bottom of the can: "Best By 01/31/23 257 19:04"

Appearance: The body is a dark tea brown color with hints of gold in the center. It has good clarity and a thick, creamy textured, off-white head that is very large. The head has excellent retention and great wisps of lacing. It looks like you could stand a quarter on this foam.

Aroma: It has a fairly strong savory hop aroma with hints of garlic, onion, rye bread, and rosemary. There is a big dose of pine to the beer as well which comes through a bit after the savory hop characters but ends up dominating the nose in the end.

Taste: Up front there is some cedar character and a bit of rye bread flavor. The flavors stay pretty mellow overall and consistent throughout.

Mouthfeel: It is light bodied with a very mellow hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish with a touch of resin character sticking to the tongue.

Overall: Appearance and aroma-wise the beer was off to a great start but it dips quite a bit when it comes to the flavor and mouthfeel. The text on the can sums it up pretty well by stating that this is "PERFECT FOR AN INTROVERT IN A CROWDED ROOM OR AN EXTROVERT ON THEIR COUCH." The appearance and aroma are the extroverts, while the flavor and mouthfeel are the introverts. It probably wouldn't be a beer I would buy again but as a single in the variety pack it works.

Part of the Clown Shoes 12 Beers of Christmas Mixed Pack - $25.99 at Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a clearish, reddish-toned body capped with an ivory-hued head. Light lacing.

Smell: A punchy earthy-citrus vibe with some lighter tones of mountain pine and stone fruit and toasted malt.

Taste: Toasted maltiness with a subtle sweetness given a hint of brown sugar. A blend of citrus, pine and stone fruit with a grassy herbaceousness. Bitterness remains medium-light. It leans into the toastiness, bringing in a touch of black tea. Slight sourish quality nearing the wet, light finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Swagger certainly doesn't deserve a framed certificate to hang on its wall, but in amongst its hohum brethren in the Holiday Mixed Pack, it's one of the better ones.
