The selection here is pretty fantastic, but the prices are kind of steep. Some Almanac Farm To Table and Jolly Pumpkin bottles were about $3-4 more than what I've paid more recently from other places (online and in-store). The Almanac Farm To Table bottles were $10.99 (which I had gotten from Trader Joes recently for $6.99), Jolly Pumpkin bottles (750ml) were $17.99-19.99, Bomb! was $10.99 (you can get it from Whole Foods for a few bucks less), etc. It's definitely worth the trip to browse, but be prepared to pay a premium if you don't want to walk out empty handed.

Perry's has an excellent selection, and I've gone there for years to find rare brews that you can't get anywhere else locally. But, after having been overcharged (but caught every time) by $10-$20 for countless times, I feel I have to point out some glaring weaknesses. Beyond just flat out making numbers up at the register, they play games with the prices. Anything without a sticker, they size you up and make random numbers up. Could be $16. Could be $25...for a beer you'd pay $14 elsewhere. I guess this crap works on some people, so they keep trying it. So, this is a mixed review where I'd say GO for the great selection but keep your eyes OPEN and don't let them pull any games on you.

If you support violation of the 3-tier system and your wallet being emptied then shop here, otherwise go to a shop that charges fair prices and abides by state liquor laws. They have a great selection but I refuse to be overcharged on something I can get down the street for (at times significantly) less money, nor will I support such blatant violation of state law and purchase any out of distro beer from them. Such "rarities" and "bargains" lately have been Heady Topper @ $11/can and Bourbon Fred @ $15/bottle. Much better spots in the Bay Area

I visited Perry's in Livermore and have followed them on instagram and facebook for a while. It is your typcal lquor store, nothing fancy. They focus on craft beer and have a solid selection but you quickly notice most beers are priced at about 20% over market value. It also appears that they buy and sell beers that are not from this market at a high premium. I have no idea on the care or quality of these items and they are cirumnavigating the three tier laws that are in place. I certainly won't be going back or supporting the price gouging of customers. If there is something you absolutely have to get it will probably still be sitting on a shelf here but otherwise there are plent of other shops around the bay that have as good of a selection and don't over charge.

My wife and I recently discovered this shop since we just moved to California. My wife described it as a "treasure trove" before I got to go and she is quite right. Their selection is totally mind-blowing. Diego took his time showing me around and clearly knows and loves his stuff. I took home a bottle of Labyrinth that he recommended and I loved it. The prices were a bit higher than you'd pay at a BevMo, but I think it's a small price to pay for the variety and service. I'd recommend this shop to anybody and plan to go back frequently when we go to visit the Bay Area.

Great shop! I stopped in while in CA on business. They had a lot to choose from. I picked up some Russian River Consecration and Pliny the Elder. There may be cheaper places but this was a great one stop shop. They took great care of me and made sure that my trip from the east coast resulted in some great takeout.

This place is awesome! I was returning from a visit to LA over the weekend and this place topped all of the shops I stopped at while down there. Diego was very informative and helped us find things we might have missed otherwise. This is one of the most outstanding beer stores in the Bay Area. The prices aren't cheap, but they have held onto some limited release bottles you can't always get easily.

Dumpy liquor store that realized they can illegally resell beer purchased in other parts of the state to people in the East Bay for insane markups. Staff think they know everything and will gladly share some stories they made up for their "beer cred". Oh, Russian River is going to brew you a special beer? Oh, you got KBS shipments directly? Come only to look around and see what greed is.

I went here on a whim. I am from Chicago and to find such a large selection of West Coast and PNW stuff was amazing for me. I really loved how much selection there was and they have a few harder to find bottles for a guy from the MW. My only downside is that I am limited by the space available in my suitcase for the flight home. Might have to invest in a bottle shipper! Cheers!

This is a great liquor store with an awesome selection. I was told by a friend to check it out, and I was not disappointed. This place gets all the rare bottles as well as everything from most all of the California breweries as well as some great out of state gems and Belgians galore. I've gotten some amazing rare Bruery bottles here, as well as all the great California standards such as Russian River sours, and AleSmith beers. Whenever I am anywhere near the area, I make it a point to see Diego and Happy and talk to them about what they have, and what they're getting. Make it a point to seek this place out.

Place has a great selection, including Firestone Walker Anny Ales (but expect to pay out the ass for it). Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help and give suggestions. Their selection is on par with Ledgers (top two I have come across in the Bay Area). However their prices seem to fluctuate wildly.

For example, you can find Speedway Stout readily available in the Bay Area usually for around $12-$13. Here is $17. Firestone Anniversary is about $20, here its $30. Other beers are priced right in line with other competition so just do your homework or expect to pay $5 premium on some beers. Also be careful, buddy of mine who went with me, picked up a bottle that once he got home and tried it, had to drain pour it. It was over 2 yrs old and skunked (sitting in the cooler).

Overall great place with fantastic selection and knowledgeable staff, just be careful with prices and ages of the beer.

A major caveat for those who don't live in Livermore and found the place online - DO NOT go there because their website listed something you wanted in their inventory. It is not accurate/kept up to date. I went 45 minutes out of my way on a trip to the bay area to check this place out because they were supposed to have Peche Mortel and Bourbon County Stout (even Dieu du Ciel's website lists the place as a carrier of that beer). They had neither. It was remarkably disappointing, but I guess it's also on me for not calling. But based on other things I've read about the place I figured it would still be worth visiting either way. To some extent, it was. They do have a pretty good selection including a few beers I've never seen in my hometown. They could use some better organization outside of the fridges, but the chilled products are easy to navigate and they have a remarkable amount of Mikkeler, Bruery, Russian River and Lost Abbey beers, among others. There are also some surprising/rare selections that indicate a true beer fanatic runs the place, but those can also be unpredictable.

Atmosphere-wise it's kind of a dumpy city liquor store, sadly, but the owners are nice and helpful. I hear they own a bar in town that constantly has great beers on tap (naturally).

So anyway, it's a good store, but it's not worth going too far out of your way.

Like The Bruery much?? If so, this will be your dream spot. These guys had a ton of stuff that I had never seen at a store before, which is a rarity for me. I picked up Tart of Darkness, and they had many of the other Provisions Series as well as the Collaborations. Beyond that, there was a pretty wide variety waiting to be picked up. I will say that it seemed there was some beer that had been resting here for a while, but with a selection such as this, I blame beer nerds not keeping up their end of the bargain, as opposed to the store not "moving" inventory. Plus, some of these beers aged would be a good thing (barleywines and the like). Perry's is clearly dedicated to bringing in a lot of good stuff for people to try. Livermore isn't exactly near San Francisco or anything else, but if you're going to Byron to skydive or heading to Stockton, Davis, or Sacramento, it may be worth a side trip.

What can I say but "wow." Stopped by on my way back home to LA from San Francisco on a friend's recommendation. My friend's recommendation couldn't have been any better. From the moment I walked in, Diego, the beer guy, was as helpful as could be. I told him what I was looking for, and he really hooked it up.

Given their selection, this place would be awesome great service or not. The service was the icing on the cake. Personal favorites are a range of vintage JW Lees, a bunch of Eclipse, and even a couple bottles of Deschutes Mirror Mirror! What a place. I can't wait to stop by again. We have nothing like this in SoCal (probably because NorCal distro > SoCal distro).

Thanks Perry's! Can't wait to stop by again soon on a trip up north.

Went to this place because of the "Craft Beer" on their sign. Let me say, I am impressed. Maybe it's just because I recently moved to California and haven't been exposed to an area that loves craft beer, but this place is awesome. There's a huge selection of refrigerated bottles and bombers of tons of local brewers' latest creations.

Service was great. The guy stocking the beer was really helpful and lets me know if they get new stuff in as well as informing me about local events related to craft beer. The rest of the people working there don't seem to care too much about service, but this guy has always been there when I've went.

Pricing is reasonable for craft beer, no doubt. Also has a large selection of liquor if you need to pick some of that up while you're out as well.

It was refreshing to find a place that has about 30 times more refrigerator and shelf space devoted to craft beer rather than mainstream crap beer.

Atmosphere is nothing special, lots of stuff on display. Feels like a convenience mart.

They have a VERY impressive selection. I first heard about this place from one of the bartenders at the Livermore Saloon (can't remember his name) who is also either an owner or employee at Perry's.

First time I came here one of the employee's asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. Was looking for a black ale, and he rattled a few off the top of his head and gave me some good recommendations.

Fairly expensive though. Can find some of what they carry at Bevmo for less. Overall a cool place.

From the outside, hardly you can think that this store has one of the finest selection in the East Bay. When you walk inside, holy cow, tons of beers available. They properly put the hoppy beers in the row of ccoolers while the strong ales are outside on the shelf. Most of the IPA are fresh, except some of the old Deschutes Bond Street Series. Diego/Harpreet, you really need to get rid of them, sell to me with a nominal 50 cent and I will gladly take all.

The beer selection of this store is first class. You can find almost all Cal beers here, RR, Deschutes, North Coast, Drakes, Lost Abbey, Ballas Point, Alesmith.... They also have limited release available or old vintage beers left over. Some of the beers are really pricey, but they are only available here, and sometimes I'm too lazy to drive around or make a trade so I buy them here.

If by any chance you see Diego, should talk to him. He's very helpful and courteous. He will help you make the correct choice and even reserve beers for you. Also, he can always update what new beers coming in. With tight budget, a lot of time I can't buy all beers I want and I'm worried they're gone soon so Diego gladly saves them for the next purchase. High five for him.

Among all the choices available in the East Bay like Whole Foods, Monument,... Perry's stands out because of their beer selection but make sure you do research to get the best deal.

This was the last stop on our tour of N. CA & OR before taking the 5 south back to So. Cal. We were all but beer'd out. Of course when you stay in a town with a beer store with this high of a rating you have to at least stop in to have a look right?

Standard liquor store environment, if you didn't know it was stocked up with great craft beer you would drive right by it and not have a second thought.

Beer in coolers and on shelves. It's kind of a mashup between fresh and old, rare and regular stuff. This can be a good or bad thing and in this case, it's mostly good. I found a bunch of limited beers here that have been long gone elsewhere.

The clerk approached me & informed me about a few new beers they got in. I think he is a BS'er, because he told me his brother was down in San Diego and gonna bring back a bunch of Duck Duck Guezue for the store, sure buddy...

I actually walked out empty handed, but if I had a few extra hundred to blow you can be sure that I wouldn't have.

I used to live in Livermore and we were visiting this Thanksgiving. We went to the Livermore Saloon and the owner told us he had a liquor store nearby that we should check out. We walked over there and were very pleased at the selection and prices of the beers, as well as the liquor. Beers you can't normally get were in stock and at reasonable prices. This would be my go to place if I lived in East Bay. Get ready for their new shipping business coming from there. The owner is also a BA so he is well aware of the market. Thanks for the tip!

Having a hankering to finally score some Heretic Brewing beers and knowing this is one of two places in the Bay Area I can get bottles, I decided to make the hour long drive from SF since I had a few days off this week.

Fairly average liquor store when you walk in with liquor to the left hand side, beer coolers on the right wall and along the back along with a few rows of beers that weren't refrigerated. Atmosphere is basic bottle shop but what would you expect from the name?

Quality was damn fine. Top notch foreign and domestic breweries were very well represented.

I was offered assistance within just a minute or two of browsing and though I didn't need help, it was good to know it was there. The cashiers were also very friendly and asked me about my purchases, making sure these were beers I enjoy.

Selection was excellent. I saw 2009 Older Viscosity, Firestone Anniversary beers, and a bunch of Bruery Provisions stuff that I was scratching my head as to how it appeared in Livermore.

If you're looking for the standard offerings from most breweries, I think their prices were reasonable. If you want something special, bend over....

Firestone XV was going for $25 or $30 if memory serves. This is way more than the brewery charged and at least $2-$3 more than Whole Foods.

Bruery's Run BMC set me back no more than $12 at their Provisions shop in Orange. Here it was hawking for more than double that!! In fact all the Provisions stuff was marked up wayyyy more than it should be.

Despite the high prices on some items, I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the neighborhood or need another Heretic fix.

Once in a while, I will make the 35 mile drive from the south bay to Livermore to shop here if I really want to treat myself. The bottle selection is probably one of the best in northern Cali. I find just about everything I'm looking for here. Even had the privilege to take a gander and purchase from their cellar.

The staff is extremely inviting and warm. They are always looking to help out. If they don't have something I look for, they go out of their way to try and get it. Their manager, Diego, always returns my calls when I leave messages and always lets me know when my orders are in.

The only downside of Perry's is their price. Usually you will find that their prices on the seasonal and more limited items are about $2-5 higher than other specialty bottle shops. In some cases, even more extreme than that. With that said, I will usually shop there only when the well runs dry around town since I'm already burning money due to the fuel costs of making the long drive over there.

Located in a strip mall next to a dollar store you pull up not expecting very much. However soon as you lay eyes on the beer section you will be blown away. Pretty much everything that's available in Northern CA is here. Lots of stuff from Russian River, Lost Abbey/Port, Stone, Firestone Walker, and many more including limited release stuff. The service here has been good each time I've visited they always ask if I need help finding something. Yeah the prices here are high but the selection and lack of better choices in the area make it worthwhile for me.

This is a pretty good bottle shop in the bay area. Its more than a bit of a drive unless you live out in that area. The fact is, most good bottle shops (Monument, Ledgers) carry all the same stuff as here. The big difference is the price. I walked out not purchasing several $20+ bottles just because of their price. WAAAY overpriced on even some common releases. Parabola almost double the price when it came out. They charge even more than some stores in the city. They do have some Lost Abbey and Bruery Reserve Society stuff though thats harder to get. But at $30 a bottle, I can have it shipped to my door from SoCal for cheaper than that!!

I really enjoyed my trip to Perry's. The store is located in a strip mall and lacks decor, but I actually appreciated that fact. It was like finding a shiny gold coin in the Tenderloin. The owner Harpreet is very passionate about beer and makes trips to Southern California to get beers that no one else has in Northern California, hence the mark up of certain items. Make sure he shows you the back room. There is no gimp there, only very rare bottles that will melt your wallet. Overall, a great selection and worth the trip.

Raja's was just a warmup; Perry's was the main event during my short time through Livermore. A short distance from downtown, Perry's sales floor is larger than the usual liquor store. A display of Bruery beers greeted me (including Loakal Red) as I started my walk along the LONG line of coolers. It wasn't just the sheer quantity that impressed me, but the brands of beers for sale; one of the coolers was dedicated to nothing but Mikkeller beers (most of which I had never seen on sale in Southern California). Still, it felt a little Jekyll and Hyde. For all the brands sold, including Xbeeriment, Elysian, Deschutes (including The Abyss), Stone, 3 Fonteinen, and so many more, you better look at those bottling dates. Two week old Pliny is nice, but seeing Eisenbahn Lust 3 years out of code tempted me to cry out loud on the sales floor. Given nearly all the product is refrigerated, I'll give back a little for the time being.

In general, I found the prices to be higher than average, though to be fair, there are some solid deals to come by: $8.99 six-packs of Anchor Our Special Winter Ale and $12.49 12-packs of Deschutes.

If you're coming to Perry's for the first time, bring a lot of cash and don't park at the 15-minute stall in front of the store; you'll spend a lot more time inside than that.
