Finally a German restaurant in Dayton.

The atmosphere is an interesting blend of German kitsch and modern restaurant. The music played varied between traditional oom-pah and modern German/French hits.

Quality and selection of the beer here was quite good. The Erdinger on tap was fresh and good (and served in official Sohn Erdinger glasses). Very extensive selection of imports and domestic craft in bottles, and 4 beers on tap - 3 German and 1 rotating American craft (I think it was something from Smuttynose when I was there - I can't remember).

Service was good, despite some slow delivery. My beer was not brought out until the foam had died down enough to properly fill the glass and the waitress apologized. Later, they got the order for my daughter wrong, but they took that off the tab and got it out fast.

Food was very good - but I'm a sucker for German food. Plenty of choices here, including food for those who may not be so keen on German food but just want some of the flavors. Great pretzel bread before the meal and the Schnitzel was everything I wanted in this fine traditional German meal. I'll definitely be going back sometime.
