The colour is very dark brown, the liquid clear. The three finger head is beige and compact; it sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell is quite strong with brown sugar, dark rye bread, soap and perfume. Hay and dried flowers.
The taste is at first quite bitter. Malty flavours, roasted nuts, crisp bread, matured cheese and light floral hoppy bitterness. Medium body. The aftertaste got metallic hints, roasted root fruits and some soap. The finish is smooth with nutty brown flavours, cream and a hint of butter.
The carbonation is medium to strong; the very small bubbles are fresh and long-lived. The liquid is very smooth.
A nice warming dark lager. Shame about the soap flavour, though.

This is a X-mas brew, a batch of 5.000 l.
"Kalla Tiders" is a play with words; according to the brewer Johan this is a "Alla Tiders"-base with an extra twist. Alla Tiders = All Times (the town-motto of Kalmar, where Ängö is located). Kalla Tiders = Cold Times...
A: Pours very dark; brown with red hues - feels murky, but it's too dark to decide. A lovely pale brown thick compact head settles into pretty nice lacings.
S: Very chocolaty; there are both münchener, pilsener and chocolate-malt in this one. Very malty, only semi-sweet. Bready and bitter. Some coffee way in the back. Dry like an Schwarzbier.
T: Lots of malt, dry and mildy sweet. Chocolate, dark bitter, and some coffee. Bitter hops. A flowery backbone, eventhough it feels wrong to write...
M: Lovely long bitter and chocolate aftertaste. Body is full while carbonation is mild.
O: This is pretty darn nice. Way more complex than most Swedish X-mas beers...
