At first; this is an "ecological pale" Schalger, brewed with Bavarian malt and "modern" hops, at least according to the brewer...

A: Pours clear golden with loads of very small bubbles. The medium tall white head is a bit uneven and airy. Only little lace.

S: The smell is dominated by the tropical fruityness that is almost a "House-hoppy-smell" of Ängö; floral hops from New Zeeland; elder berries as well as flowers along with citric fruits and some pineapple. The malt brings a crips-bread-like kind of dry smell to the floral hops. Quite rich in the bitter hops department as well.

T: The taste is way more classic German Pilsener, with rich bitter hops and nice semi-sweet malt. Some tropical fruits, still, but way in the back.

M: Somewhat sweet, but more bitter aftertaste lingers. The body is medium full, but a bit oily, while carbonation is rich, but un-offensive. Rather smooth!

O: I really liked this one, but the rating is hard - not a German Pilsener (since the Noble hops from Germany isn't used), but very interesting fusion between the hops of the New World and the malt from the Old World... Not often made with such great results when it comes to Lagers.
